For you big rig owners, this park is not the pretty view you are looking for. Large fifth wheels and Class A's are crammed in open fields with no privacy, no shade and honey wagon service for the septic. Pop ups and tents get the more typical wooded private locations. Wi-Fi is hit or miss based on your location. We were in the "C" field which is close to the office and pool area and we could not pick up the signal within the coach. The campground has a basic pool and some of the friendliest fellow campers and owners but they need more social activity ideas offered at other established campgrounds. This is a busy campground with lots of children which is perfect for families but if you are seeking a quiet peaceful picturesque setting I would look elsewhere. Hits, the pie lady who travels around selling pies/baked goods. Public transportation to nearby towns and Acadia park. Cons, horrible sites for big rig. Dirty picnic tables and small fire rings. They need to do general upgrading for the open sites. Big rigs park on the grass. There is a parking lot feel to the Class A sites which I dislike and do not consider camping. Basically it's a campground to just "sleep" in and head into town or the park for action and not a destination unto itself.

I have a love/hate for this park. I love everything about it and hate to share the review because it might be hard to get a space once word spreads. We decided to stay here for one night after being depressed at the "atmosphere" of the previous campground we were at. I wish I would have known about this campground to begin with. I loved the ocean view. We were not directly on the ocean but a few sites back in a "partial" view and it was just as good as ocean front. There really isn't a bad spot in the whole park and you can take your lawn chairs to the oceans edge for viewing and relaxing. Wonderful social events for the kids. Fantastic dog park for the furry buddies to exercise. New playground equipment but watch out for those hot slides in the summer. Store was small but stocked with plenty of essentials and the camp host and all the workers made the vacation so wonderful. They all were charming and fun. There were so many nice activities for kids of all ages. Loved the on site Lobster dinner. 40 bucks for two meals. You can't beat that. We didn't get to stay for the Sunday pancake breakfast but I'll make sure to do that next year. Kids loved when the tide went out leaving behind lots of sea creatures in the tide pools. You could spend hours exploring them. Laundry rooms was clean and the park grounds are spotless. The only thing that could make this park a perfect park is the addition of a swimming pool- you can use the one at the sister site. I really enjoyed staying here and will do so in the future. Just staring at the ocean for hours from our site was better than any 5 star hotel.

Beautiful park. Very woodsy and scenic. Nice lake for fishing and birdwatching. Campgrounds were deserted during our visit. Camp hosts are very nice and helpful. Fantastic covered bridge that had us worried our rid would not be able to use, but it was no problem. Most of the sites are wooded but there is a small loop of open sites near the playground. Restaurant and concessions will open mid April. Be sure to stock up in the small town of Morrison if you need anything. There are plenty of horse trails which you can use. Wish it had water or sewer but there is a dump site. Will be sure to visit again.

This is a very open prairie style campground. You won't have privacy between your camping neighbors but if you are going to be exploring other areas of the park with your toad then this might not be a problem. Nice lake with plenty of hiking trails but there is a massive tick population ready to pounce. We returned from our hike with 30 ticks between the four of us. Hookups are dandy, just wish there was more private sites. Only the inside sites have the full hookups, the outer sites are electric only. Camp hosts are very polite and helpful. They deliver ice and firewood to your site if needed. Bring bikes, kayaks, fishing poles etc., to keep busy. Surrounded by small towns without a lot of action so make sure to be fully stocked up on fun and food/goodies before you pull in. I imagine this place is super hot in the dead summer due to lack of trees over the campground. If you like a lot of woods and trees, this is not the park for you.
