Staff is wonderful!! They brought by wood thru out our stay to see if we needed any, and asked how things were going. Being that this is there 2nd season there are very little mature trees. They were putting several bigger trees on the day we left. They had an issue with the women bathrooms, but were right on top of it & had port-a-johns brought right in. On the day we left the manager stopped by our site & thanked us several times for choosing them for the Memorial Day weekend. We WILL Stay here again soon!
Picked this CG because it's close to home & was a last minute thing. I drove by a few days prior to our scheduled dates to take a look. I found a site that was recently vacated from by a seasonal person that was a nice big level-lot with a deck & very clean. I asked if we could stay there for the weekend. Not a problem I was told. When we arrived, the staff were expecting us & said if we had issues with our motorhome being too low with the deck & couldn't open our door they had a few other sites open that they thought we would like. Everything worked great. The staff was very accommodating & pleasant. I did ask about taking over the site we camped at seasonally & I was told that the owner wanted to use it as a permanent site. I will camp there again.
I would of given this a little higher rating if the bath house's & rest rooms where more up to date & cleaner. Being old is one thing, being old-run-down & dirty is another. That was the only down side I found at this site. The lake was nice & clean, as so was our site. The pool was very nice, lots of chairs & plenty of room for large groups with out feeling over-run. The staff was very friendly. I had read a few reviews prior to our stay & they all mentioned the poor condition of the road entering the campground. I truly found the to be ok. It did have some potholes, but you could see that it had been graded a short time ago. You could also see that the new owners are working towards fixing up the place. My family & I will stay at this campground again.
When we made our reservations (online) we asked to be close to bath house because we were traveling with my in-laws who are elderly. The staff couldn't be helpful. They took us to our site, which was right behind the store/main bath house. They had lots of family fun activities all afternoon. My in-laws, who have never camped before loved it. They were very impressed with the facilities & staff. A staff member even came by the next morning to make sure everything was to our liking, another reason we love KOA's. The store has pretty much anything you need. It's easy to get to off I-81 and close to Natural Bridge. We will stay here again.
Check in time is 2:00pm, I suggest you get there before then because it's crazy busy with people checking in and out. Our original site was supposed to be across from the pool, but when we checked in the staff member changed our site. After maneuvering thru the narrow roads to set up camp we passed our original site, we where very happy they moved us. Our new site was very shaded and larger then we had hope for. The pool's were clean, but crowed along with the beach area. Get there early if you want to get a good spot. We rented a golf cart due to the size of the park. Overall we had a great time & will camp again next year for our family vacation.
I called the day we wanted to camp, which was the weekend of the fourth. Had no problem getting a site with full hookups. Staff was very helpful & nice. Planned on staying 3 days, but had a family emergency & had to leave early. Staff was very accommodating & refunded our money with no problem. We found the site clean and easy to get to. Note to self, bring lots of bug spray cause the bugs eat you alive. This campground is convent to our home, so we will camp here a few times during the summer.
