What a gorgeous place to camp! Right in the middle of a spruce and pine forest, this is a very nice campground. Accommodating staff, close access to river, lake and hiking; a pleasant drive to Durango, we'd definitely come back to stay.
This is a very nice camp with excellent spaces. Up on the side of the hill opposite the Arkansas River, it is remote enough to be quiet, with beautiful nights and peaceful days. The managers are wonderful to work with, and do a great job maintaining their campground. Excellent coffee bar; good emergency supplies selection; lot of help with local advice, attractions and things to see; we had a all around pleasant experience.
Basically a dusty gravel lot with hookups; few trees; LOTS of wind at times. The advertised "...amazing views..." are now completely blocked by an adjacent HUGE Camping World building. Basic services were fine, just not much else to draw us back.
