Spent 3 nights in site #28. Excellent for our Roadtrek but could easily fit bigger. Sand sites, but all looked level. The grounds were clean when we arrived. Restrooms/showers are a little old, but clean and functioning. The one ranger we met was informative and friendly. Three decent hiking trails. Kayak rentals the cheapest we have run across to date. Firewood/ice available from the host. Nice, small, shady park. Quiet. Communications sparse at times, but then. We'll return.
Nice grounds and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the three shaded sites (B1). Fairly level, crushed rock, 50amp, water and sewage. Out of the way and quiet. Nice rec room with Wi-Fi, three TV's, pool table and a couple of other games. The place is a horse farm with a couple of goats and chickens, plenty of hiking and biking can be done here to burn off the great Savannah food. Convenient to Savannah. Old Town Trolley picks you up and brings you back when you purchase day ticket. Well worth the price. The only problem we saw is the showers/restrooms are a good walk from the sites and need work. Only two available. And, the pool wasn't useable. That was no problem. When we return to Savannah we will stay again.
Great place. Shaded level dirt sites. Electric, water. Our site was right on the lagoon. Enjoyed great sunsets looking over the water. We had a tree at the edge of the water that attracted several types of local birds. Showers/restrooms clean. Site area well maintained. We biked to the fort and gulf beaches via a great bike/pedestrian paved path. Beaches are excellent. Will return.
Stopped for a one night stay, but enjoyed it so stayed two nights. Stayed in the area close to the office. Concrete pads, water, cable and electric. Ours was shaded all day (back row). Clean restrooms/showers, friendly staff. Flea market adjacent to park and outlet stores a short bike ride away if that's important. Despite in sight of I-75 it was still quiet. This is a convenient stop-over to points north for us. Will stay again when heading out of Florida.
We stayed in 416 with a great view of the lake and mountain. Site was level had electric and water, concrete picnic table, fire ring and neat granite wall around a third of the site. Shaded of course. Restroom/showers clean. Sites and surrounding area well maintained. Friendly staff. Convenient to the golf course. We arrived before Labor Day weekend. It was like a ghost town, but come Friday night it filled up for the holiday. Will definitely return.
Lot's to do here. Boating, fishing, hiking, biking, tour of the fort. The camp store serves up some good meals if you don't want to cook. The pool is under repair and closed, but that isn't for us, so no problem. Supposed to reopen late July. Most all sites are shaded or partially. Ours was level. Plenty of space between sites, shrubs on most for some privacy. Facilities were clean, but Loop 2 area's can use updating. Staff is friendly, park is clean. Will return.
If you want to get away from civilization, this is the place. We did get TV on the antenna, but no wireless phone service. Didn't really care. Lot's of hiking and biking can be done. Facilities clean, and staff friendly. Site was level, shaded and spacious. Park well kept. Quiet weekend.
We chose the standard site (dirt) and were right on the lake. Couldn't have chosen a better site in our opinion. A little close to the neighbors, but not a real problem. A lot of walking and biking can be done. Facilities were clean and staff pleasant. Pool and spa, miniature golf available and if you have a canoe or kayak a good size lake to get some exercise. Not far from towns and beaches to do a day trip. Would stay here again.
We stayed here for a long weekend. The park is laid out well with some concrete sites and some pea gravel sites. Restrooms/showers very well maintained. The whole area is well kept; has grass, shrubs and young trees around most sites. There will be shade in the future. Our site 48, had adequate privacy from our neighbors. The site was level except for a slight slope in one corner. Didn't affect the RV. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Camp sites are 3 miles off the main road (quiet). Biking and hiking is great and they have kayaks for rent. There is a fishing dock on each of the two lakes. If you need stuff, there are towns nearby, but not too close. We will definitely weekend here again.
Enjoyed our stay here. Staff was young and very customer service oriented. We had a choice of sites. The guide was very patient as we took our time deciding. She didn't leave until she was sure we were satisfied. While it was a weekend and we were right next to the public "swimming hole" there were no problems with noise of crowds of people at all. Quiet at night, well lit main street for walking and biking at night. Kayaks a little pricey, but not outrageous. Small store had essentials. Shower/restroom area clean and functioning. Grounds well kept. Activities were available, but not noisy at all. Family oriented place. People we met were most friendly. Will return.
It is a great park with a neat layout. The roads are hard packed as are the sites. The sites are shaded and good size. All seem to have picnic table and fire ring. They are easy to back in. There are shrubs & trees between sites. While touring the grounds we didn't see a bad site. Handicap sites have concrete pads and paths. The restrooms/showers are well kept and clean. The rangers and hosts real nice folks. There is a small store with a few basics for sale and light breakfast and lunch. Friday and Saturday nights the owners put on a great 2-hour sunset songfest. What a treat that was. It is a family oriented park. The Kayak, canoe and fishing gear rentals were reasonably priced. We wish it were closer to home, as we would use it for 3-day weekenders. We will return. If you need TV, we pulled in about a dozen or so clear channels on our antenna with no problem.
Overall good. Older campsite. Showers/restrooms could use some updating and attention, but clean. Our site could have stood a little better leveling. Was quiet the night we stayed. Would stay again while passing through. Has store and gas station at entrance. Enjoyed the river dock area.
A beautifully kept campground on a hillside that makes for a really neat setting. Very friendly, attentive staff, and excellent, clean facilities. I read about the hill climb. Piece of cake. You are guided into your level site. Plenty of room between your neighbors. The trees surround you in silence. We are spoiled to have stayed here early in our RVing adventure. The bar is raised high. We will definitely return.
