St. Vrain State Park is a beautiful park located just off of I25 along CO 119 and is open year round. The I25 noise can be heard at some sites more than others. The ponds are routinely stocked and the fishing is very good. The facilities are well maintained and cleaned daily. The work campers take pride in their work and they are very helpful. What is really nice is all the site picnic tables are covered. The south side of the park still has dirt roads and can be a little dusty at times. All the sites have concrete pads for your RV. If you are an out of state camper, the fees are a little more. St. Vrain is a wildlife park and therefore you’ll see plenty of wildlife. There is a large number of nesting Canadian geese so you’ll have to get used to that. This park is a bird watchers paradise and you’ll see some beautiful species including Bald Eagles.
In addition to the previous comments, I'd like to state the WiFi is currently poor to practically nonexistent most of the time. The current WiFi system is antiquated and is provided by Sprint. The good news is Verizon 4G LTE is now available at the FamCamp with very good signal strength. There are new rules in place for base contractors staying at the FamCamp. After so many days (I think 60) the camper has to relocate to the back-in spaces. Also, the FamCamp now accepts reservations. The weekly rate is discounted and is $148.00
