Little difficult to get into, but worth the effort. This is a beautiful location on the Pacific Coast that shouldn't be missed. Nice walking trails. Couple of nice cafe's in the area for breakfast. Will return.
State Park that puts RVs next to tents. In the four days we stayed at this park we had new tent neighbors each day on both sides. The sites have little or no screening so the sites seem to be one large dirt site. Because there are no defined borders, people just walk through the middle of your site. LOUD, DIRTY and NOISY. This could be a nice park if they would segregate the tents from the RV's Will not return.
This place gives RV Parks a bad name. The restrooms were filthy, toilets running over on to the floor into the shower room. What a nightmare. Dogs were running wild through the park. While we were sitting under our awning having a drink, a dog off leash charged in and attempted to attack our dog through our screen door on our motorhome. We went to the manager who claimed she didn't know who owned the dog. There was dog waste all over the grounds. This place seems to have a rule posted for everything, but don't seem to enforce any of them. When we arrived at our site, the fire pit was full of raw garbage and trash from the previous occupant. The road that runs in front of this Park must be the local Race Way. You take your life in your hands crossing it to get to the bay. At night the cars roar down the road. We needed to purchase propane which the park sold us at $3.00 per gallon claiming it was at their cost. While in town we saw propane listed for $1.99 per gallon at several locations. What a mistake. Cape Lookout is just up the road. That's where we'll camp next time. This place needs new owners or managers. We won't return.
This is a great State Park. We have been here several times and always enjoy ourselves. There are all kinds of trails to walk. The beaches are very nice. You have enough space and screening between sites to have a sense of privacy. We will return.
Washington State seems to have a very poor selection of RV Parks, which is why we see a lot of Washington plates everywhere else. This Park has a nice location in the woods, but that's it. While walking back to our site, our on leash dog was attacked by an off leash dog. We called the office to report the incident and they did nothing. The dumpsters were overflowing and trash was blowing around the park. The second evening after 10:00 pm, two or three sites were having a very loud party. We called the office , no one was available. We left the next day even though it was paid for. Will not return.
This is one to miss. When we arrived after a very confusing drive and checked in, we were confronted with someone from office that demanded that he direct us in backing onto the site. I advised him that my wife and I had a system with our walkie talkies and could handle it. He insisted that he would do the directing because of previous damage by other RVers. I asked him if he would be responsible for any damage to my vehicle due to his instructions. He said "NO"! If we hadn't already paid I would have left. The only out of state vehicle was ours so I guess we must have fallen into the rabbit hole of RV Parks. We won't return.
A must stop RV Park. Lots of activities and great ocean beaches. We have always enjoyed returning to this location. You need to study the park site layout before making reservations. Some sites are to far back from the ocean access and have to much shade. We will return to this one.
Great State Park. While we were there on a previous visit we saw a Monarch Butterfly Migration that caused all the trees in to park to look like orange pumpkins. If you like sea life and bird life, this is the park. One evening we watch the Egrets return for the evening from their daily fishing. They landed in the trees on the edge of the bay and it looked like a decorated christmas tree full of white balls. We will return.
Nice campground. Easy walk to the ocean beach. Bandon is a very nice town to visit, shop and eat. Bandon has a very unique golf course, all sand. Nice place for short relaxing visit on Oregon Coast. Will be back.
