Very small park close to Death Valley. On the highway but not much road noise at night. Very small, basic park. Really nice shower/restroom. There is BLM land there and a gate if people so desire to use. Manager very friendly and had brochures for Death Valley Park. Rhyolite (ghost town) nearby. The town itself has no decent size grocery stores.

Currently staying here on a weekly basis. There is a non heated pool: which is very cool right now. Also has a hot tub that is nice. It is river front and can walk down to the water. Clubhouse not used much, but has a nice view. Workout room is small but we did enjoy it. Motel not is use at this time, so not much inside traffic. A little road noise from frontage road. Very nice management made us want to stay another week!!! Wi-Fi is free, but a daily log in required.

A really a nice state park. They have a new, nice shower/restroom that is heated and needed to be as it was quite cool in February. It was very windy, but we expected that at a beach front area. The raised walkways between camp areas getting worn, but are still nice to use. There are nice large sites. We enjoyed walking right onto the beach and looking for lots of sea shells. The fishing was pretty good too, caught some whiting.

We were surprised at the dirt roads in the park. We stayed 2 weeks way too long as there is not much to do in the area. We did see and enjoy some manatees. There are lots of nice walking paths and in the late afternoon we found some armadillos. It was quite cold a few days and there is no heat in the showers, except a small heat lamp. Also they give you a combination for the gate at night, but it is the old fashioned get out of your toad and then close the gate and replace when you are done not very modern for a Florida State Park. We have found most Florida State parks great to stay in. There is a very friendly host at the Hickory site.

I loved it here. The area is a little scary with homes with bars on windows, but the park itself feels safe with security trucks making rounds all night long. Very quiet to sleep except the nightly sirens nearby! The pods are older and blacktop is cracking badly in places, but lots of grass and avocado trees with fruit that we could even eat! They have pet bags at all pods and very friendly people walking their dogs or riding their bikes. The pool was open 6 days a week, but very little use while we were there. It is a great size pool, but not heated. We swam quite a few times, but it took awhile to get into the water! The clubhouse is small for the size of the park. A few activities offered, but for a county park it is great. Outside the RV section is a large park complete with a small lake and paths to walk or bike. It takes a long time to get on the waiting list for a monthly site because it is so nice for this area. I wish they had WiFi.

The inside of shower in mens was dirty! The corners in the women's were dirty you could tell a man had cleaned because it wasn't done well, just a quick mop job. We were angry as we had used our CCUSA and were given the rate by phone we paid the amount for the stay as was expected by check. I called again on Dec 13th to verify the rate as noticed the dates had changed on the CCUSA internet site. They assured me that since it was taken as that time it would be honored. When we arrived they changed their mind, said new managers now and would not honor their previous quoted rate, but did give us a minor discount. Not Happy Campers! Our site was so small (we are 25 feet and no slides) that we could not even put up our awning. The pool is heated, but small, especially for the number of people trying to use it. It did have nice activities and a great duck/fish pond. I would never stay there again because I couldn't trust them.

There is a manager on site now. The WiFi is great. And they have very large pads now. You can see where they added patios to the existing pads (not the best of work, lumpy) and now there is very little grass between sites!! Trucks and toads can be parked easily by the RVs. Very small pool and is COLD!!! Nice little fenced doggy area. Very friendly people. There is a calendar of activities. Nice exercise equipment and pool table!! Very nice lounge with TV. Sits on a salt water lake with a pier to fish. Just a few shower/restrooms available. Most people seems to be by the month.

Most hospitable staff we've met on the road in 6 months!!! We had made a wrong turn and the owner saw us as he was leaving and made sure we found our way back!!! RVer's friendly and happy here. Cement pads a little short and narrow. New park and trying to plant trees, grass between sites. The poor duck pond is almost dry as no rain in months!!! Pool very small and not heated. Rec room has a very old pool table and exercise equipment. Nice laundry. Nice size shower facility. Worse thing is the road noise from 59. But I would stay again traveling.

Sites a little narrow, but OK for a travel stop. Nice cement pads. CCUSA rate. Very courteous staff. Nice laundry room. Only 3 shower/restrooms (private)which was surprising for such a large park. Had free bikes to use while there. Great treat to have a continental breakfast come with the stay!!

We stayed to see the plantation homes, and the receptionist even gave us a card with a free visit. That was the nicest thing I can say about the park. It is on a hill, poor drainage at our site and as it rained very hard, we had alot of mud. All roads and sites are dirt. The restroom/shower facility is old, worn but was clean and useable. The rec area very worn and not much in there at all. It was very quiet. Of course the pool wasn't being used, but it is a little small. I would stay again for a night or two: not any more.

The bathroom/showers are new and open now. There is no chair/bench to put your things nor even a place to put your soap, so I left suggestions, showers are alittle small. There was some standing water around and road in a little rough due to hurricane damage. Very friendly staff and helpful for New Orleans information. Had to pay extra as Mardi Gras Week and wouldn't use Good Sam discount: not sure why as many sites were left unfilled, but would stay again for a couple nights as quiet. Close enough to both New Orleans and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

Really nice people to check you in and were on site. It was raining very hard when we came in and they said we could write or check in the AM. Of course they had our credit card number from the reservation, but that was so very thoughtful. Most sites are cement pads, a little patio and then some grass. Nice enough showers, small but adequate. As we walked our dog people and dogs were very friendly. We used CCWS here, so rate was only $14. Very quiet and yet close enough to Foley and Gulf Shores.

A lot of permanent and seasonal places. Sites are a little tight but very level. Very helpful at check in and they were changing owners. We went through Camp Club USA and they very congenial about the discount. I wished we could have come during the pool being open, looks like a very well run and nice park.

Sites pull through, but I needed to take off toad first as you must park in front of your motorhome and the sites start going downhill, not flat. Large park, close to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. We used Camp Club USA and our fee was half and owner was very easy to deal with

We were upset because they didn't allow the Camp Club USA...said they hadn't sent back the paperwork. But we stayed anyway as a long drive to get up there. The bathrooms smelled like mildew and the water from the showers smelled like rotten eggs. Mostly permanent camping as most have small decks and stuff all around. Wouldn't recommend to stay for the price it is.
