Very convenient to everything, clean, and it's the same price as the closest other RV park, which doesn't even allow you to use your air conditioner - even during the heat waves. I would recommend this park, but for a 40' it can be quite tricky getting in and out. Sites are mostly spacious, but getting into the sites can be tricky. Great staff in the office that were good in helping us. It was $1,425 for a month during June/July/August. Nice park.
This park has both good and bad points. It's not very well kept, and it's also hard to get in and out. Each time we've visited, we've seen someone stuck (including ourselves), and another family had to be towed out, as the sites can be 'soft'. Also, the staff aren't good at giving directions, and one bad turn, you're stuck in pure sand! The good is that it's a fun park. The music camp for kids is the best I've ever seen, and one I'd recommend to every parent. You'll be amazed at what your child learns in just three days. People are nice here, but warning, people often come here to party, so it can get loud/rowdy. The experience was overall great, and we'll likely stay here again.
What a nice park. We are a young family, with teens, and this park was so friendly! The elders were always happy, and when we went to the beautiful pool/hot tub every night, we always had a great time! The pond is so nice, and the location of the park is very convenient to everything. We were in 402 and loved it. I'll definitely use this park again, and I think the staff are awesome.
I thoroughly enjoyed this park! There weren't many other campers here, so we stayed in site 43. We loved the stream right at our door, as well as the ducks that were always around And the people in the office were very nice. The restrooms were really clean, as well. The location was great; just off the strip, but literally minutes away. I didn't have a problem with a 42' Class A, but if it were crowded, I might've had more of an issue with it. I will definitely be here again in the future, and would recommend it to any families passing through. We used our Passport America discount, and paid only $18 for a 50 amp site. HOWEVER, you can only pay with cash or debit for the PA discount, and when I didn't have it on me, the guy in the office told me to just come back tomorrow and not to worry. I liked that. LOVED it, compared to some of the other parks that are right beside this park. The pool was closed for winter.
RUDEST staff, very disorganized, and even though it's in a good location for shopping, etc., there's not much for the kids to do, and there is no gate upon entrance. I would not recommend this park for families. Also, I found the managers were arrogant and unorganized.
Paid with Passport America, so i got 1/2 off. Very clean, very nice staff, and very close to tons of shopping. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 rating is because they don't have a hot tub - although the pool is very nice.
We were quite reluctant about staying here, as we'd never been there, and worried about accessibility in the RV, as well as safety. All of our worries went away the first hour we were there. The drive in was easy, with the help of our GPS. It took us straight to the park, and the streets were easy to get through. The park is not fancy, has no pool, which is the only reason I didn't give the rating a 10. The amenities were basic, but nice, and the staff was wonderful. The guard is there all night, and we felt very safe walking the block to the Path train, as well as walking back - sometimes at midnight. There was no feelings of being in danger, etc. The trip to NYC was about 15 minutes, and $4 each way. I was thoroughly impressed with LHP, and I will definitely be staying there when we return to NYC. Only thing that would make this park better would be a hot tub for sore muscles, caused by walking all over the city! This is the only reason we didn't give it a rating of 10.
The location of the park is approx 39 miles from Key West. It takes about an hour to drive down. The drive is easy. The park's pool is nice, but it closes at dark, just when we'd enjoy going. Since there is almost no shade in the park, and with fair children, it's nicer to go in the evening. However, they close it at dusk. The park does have some beachfront areas, but nothing that would keep the kids occupied, other than fishing, if that's your thing. We would enjoy it, but don't carry poles, etc., and renting the equipment would be expensive, and the waterfront they do have is not really that nice. We got the $399 per week deal for one week, and there's three days left of that week and we'd leave if it wasn't already paid for. In fact, we had two weeks planned and I cancelled the second week today. All in all, it's not a terrible park if you're older and just want to hang out, play bingo (we did this Thursday, and it was fun, but very hot: the a/c was broken). The people really were nice, though. However, for kids, it's boring, and I can't justify paying this price, when I could stay in another park much cheaper and have much more to do. I definitely wouldn't recommend this for families.
Didn't like it! Dark, gloomy, roads are cramped and in the boondocks. NOT beachfront: a short walk, but you don't feel like it. It's like you're in the boonies! Checked in and out in the same hour. They said no refund, but gave us one anyway. Never stay again.
First of all, the security gate is a comfort, loved that aspect! The staff seemed unorganized, and not as helpful as I thought they should be. However, with three kids, there are tons of things to keep them busy with the huge playground (right beside the ocean) and the cruise ships coming and going all the time. The roads were in need of repair: potholes, etc. In general, this is our favorite park yet, but we like parks that are active and not secluded. No weekly or monthly rates, only nightly. That was a bummer.
The owner answered our late call and allowed us to come to the camp around 8:30 p.m. Once we arrived, she was shocked that I had kids, and advised that it was a 55+ park. However, she let us stay under the condition we only stay a few nights. After that, we asked for another few nights and they allowed us, saying we were welcome anytime, as the kids were great. The park is very active and although everyone was older, we had fun. Not very convenient for Wal-Mart, etc., (about 30 minutes) and a bit out in the middle of nowhere, other than some fast food places, etc. Would stay here again if in the area.
Charged $3 each for kids: NOT HAPPY with that from the get-go! Stayed in #35. Roads are easy to get in and out of, and in good condition. Nothing special about this park, but it's very close to Wal-Mart (approximately 1/2 mile). They don't seem to welcome kids here, but nobody was rude. There is a store, pool, lake with activities, etc., but the park isn't 'warm.' Overall, not bad, and not secluded. I would stay here again, but not for a long period of time.
