We stayed here because there was a convention at the casino. The price was very reasonable considering the cleanliness and convenience. The check-in was so easy; it was all automated by an ATM-like machine. Security was driving around frequently, so we felt very safe. Shuttles are available to take you to the casino if desired. We recommend staying in the back portion to lessen the noise of the semi trucks parked in the adjacent parking lot. Our only complaint is that they wanted to charge $5/hour for WiFi, not worth it!
Lake Francis resort is operated by a non profit organization that benefits foster kids. It is a fairly well maintained park, with a restaurant, ice cream parlor, and small store. The lake is about a 10 minute walk from the campground, but there are several trails by the sites. Unfortunately, most of the sites are not level, and some are down right steep. There is no WiFi and very spotty cell phone service, which makes this is a great place to go if you want to get away from it all.
The campsites are big with a Redwood forest feel. Very clean and well maintained. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very pretty and relaxing. There were several sites that the owners paid a monthly rate to keep their RV there and then would come stay on the weekend (at least during this time of year). Easy access to 101 and short drive / bike ride to Pt. Saint George area.
