If I had to use one word to describe our stay here, it would be "quiet". While there are several other choices in Island Park that are closer to the highway, RedRock is a ways off the main highway, but well worth the short few minutes to get there. It's quiet, and the scenery is unlike anything else you'll find along the roadside. Be sure to wait until the hosts guide you to your site. They're more than willing to help assist you with getting set up (even in the POURING rain). We would definitely stay here again.
We pulled into this location and we were a little turned off by the rows of mobile homes that dot the entrance. Don't let that deter you from spending the night at this park. We only spent one night but would gladly stay again. We pulled in just after the office closed, but the camp host (who lives on-site) was more than accommodating to get us set up for the night. Bathrooms and showers were clean. We weren't here long enough to check out the store or the surrounding storefronts but we would gladly come back to check it out again.
Great campground. The pull trough sites were level and easy to get into. The trains were noisy, but they weren't annoying (we enjoy trains). We would stay here again if we had the opportunity to come through here.
From the highway, you would never know this place was here. It is tucked back into a canyon that provides some great quiet nights despite being so close to the highway. The sites are a little cramped together, but we had some nice neighbors so it wasn't an issue. Be sure you get here before 9:00 at night, as they do not allow ANY check-ins after that. We didn't get any Wi-Fi signal where we were camped, but it was quick and reliable next to the clubhouse & pool. Showers and bathrooms were clean.
Nice National Park campground. Dry camping only, but if you come expecting that, it isn't an issue. Nice to have the dump station on-site to clean out as you leave the park. Our site was a little lacking on the shade, but the views of the surrounding mountains made up for it. We spent the majority of the time in the park anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. Easy access to the park. The lack of showers was an issue for us. The showers are about 6 mi up the road at Rising Sun, but they have very limited stalls, so the wait was long. The local KOA wanted 10.00 a person, so the cost at Rising Sun was much more appealing. We would stay here again.
This was indeed a unique layout for a RV park. Pull through sites were easily accessed and made hookups simple to connect. No fires allowed in the area we stayed. There was only one shower stall in each bathroom at our end of the park, but surprisingly, there wasn't a wait. I guess everyone else just uses the showers in their rigs (ours is a little too small for comfort). We would stay here again if we had the opportunity to come through.
This was a great campground. Large sites with sufficient spacing between each. Our girls loved riding their bikes on the trails within the area, and access to the local biking trail system is a plus. While we didn't have an opportunity to benefit from the outdoor theater and kids program, it appeared to be a lot of fun. The recycling center was a welcome sight as we unloaded a weeks worth of recycling. The showers are the only thing lacking here. They were on the other side of the park from our site, and as another review points out, the push button approach leaves the user wishing for a little more water pressure.
This campground was a great place to stay. Even though we couldn't stay in one of the sites out back in the Redwoods, we really enjoyed our bike ride through them. What a great place to spend some time! The facilities were clean and well kept. The only reason we aren't rating this as a 10 is because it isn't the easiest to find. There aren't any signs around the area pointing you where to go. The GPS didn't list the campground either. We got lucky and found it almost by accident. We would stay here again.
This was a great place to stay. We pulled in a little late and got a personal escort down to our site. Most of the residents are permanent, but the grounds are very well kept. The convenience store had everything that you could need while out on the road. The waterfalls were a lot of fun to visit. Bathrooms and showers were quite possibly the cleanest we have ever seen. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a great place for a one night stay. We informed the host that we would be pulling in late, and they had our registration already processed and a site prepared. They have sites placed up front for the use of late arrivals / single night stays. This was a great place to pull through for the night.
