This state park is really beautiful. We liked its open feeling--not overly congested with trees, although there was plenty of shade at our site. Bathhouse was very clean and modern; water was plentiful and hot. From our site, it was just a short walk down the hill to the beach area on Seneca Lake. We don't have kids, but families will appreciate the fantastic playgrounds throughout the park, as well as the beach and concession stand. We would definitely come back to this park again!
Fair Haven Beach was a beautiful spot, although we were somewhat bothered by extremely hungry insects. Our site (#79) was level, but slightly damp. Bathhouse was older, but well kept and the water for showers was plentiful and hot. It was a bit over a mile's walk from our site to the beach, but the walk was lovely. The only negative was that the "view" of Lake Ontario from the bluff area was mostly obscured by over-grown vegetation on the lake side of the chain-link fence. It would be nice if the park maintenance crew could cut the weeds down so that people could see the fantastic view.
