This highly-rated park was one of the greatest disappointments to me. We were parked near the water in rows of permanent or semi-permanent residents. It was far from the main buildings in the resort--too far to push a wheelchair although you could have walked it in 20-30 minutes. The staff was not particularly helpful; they didn't show us where our site was and left us to get lost trying to find it. There appeared to be only one laundry and set of restrooms which were back by the main office. I would never stay here again. It was way too expensive for the way we were treated and the site we were given.
Although this is not one of the usually high-rated KOA campgrounds, we really liked it. The staff were very friendly, the laundry was clean, and the food was outstanding. The wireless internet worked extremely well which is more than I can say for some places that advertise it. This campground had a very comfortable feel to it.
We had a level site with a nice tree to shade it. One of the nicest things about this campground is that it has a free shuttle that takes you to the places you want to see at the Grand Canyon. The major negative aspect is that there are no showers or laundry in the campground itself. An added benefit this time of year was deer and elk feeding next to your motor home!
Although the weather was stormy when we were here, it is a wonderful campground. We had a waterfront site. The employees were super helpful and the restrooms and laundry were clean. The laundry even had a television and a soap dispenser, which was very handy. There is a great commons room with sofas and a television and a weight room as well as a huge swimming pool.
This park has great potential but needs some attention. There is great disparity between one section of the park to another. We were first taken to the D section where the sites were so bad you couldn't even drive through the dip to get out of the pull throughs. We finally ended up in A which was adequate. However, the restrooms were so dirty that I wouldn't use them and there was trash on the ground. This is absolutely the worst KOA I've every stayed in.
This is one of the best campgrounds in which I have ever stayed. The sites were large, the restrooms and showers were superb, and the staff was great. They even delivered dinner to your motorhome and have a goldfish pond next to the hot tub. I will definitely go back and stay for a longer period of time.
