The full hook-up sites are very close together - I could hear someone in the next RV snoring even with the windows closed. Some of the sites seem to be in low-lying areas where water accumulation might be a problem. The night we were there, quiet hours were not enforced - there was a loud unruly group who kept everyone else awake until almost 1 am, when the campground hosts finally shut them down. Would not stay here again.
Awesome location on the shores of Lake Champlain. Gorgeous sunsets. The campground is beautifully maintained and very quiet. The sites are grass-covered (no mats allowed), spacious, and most have views of the lake. Some seasonals, but they keep their sites clean and very neat. The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend this campground.
The park is small and seems to set up primarily for use by boaters. There are stunning views of the lake from some of the campsites. The swimming was good. The bathrooms, the shower in particular, are very dirty and needs maintenance and renovation. The road into the campground needs work - serious potholes.
A great location. Extremely helpful and friendly staff in the park office. Good Wi-Fi connection (not something we expected in a state park). Very clean bathrooms and showers. A few of the sites are layer out a bit oddly and are not particularly level. The road to the dump station needs repaving (lots of potholes and crumbling pavement). Loved our stay her and will definitely return.
The park is not really set-up for RV's, even small ones; the road inside the camping area is very narrow in spots because of trees. The road to the campground has a small bridge with a weight limit of only 2 tons. Apparently the 2 ton limit was recently imposed. Our rig is 5 tons, we had to back up when we encountered the bridge. Couldn't locate a park employee anywhere but did run across a state policeman who said he didn't know about the limit but that log trucks went across the bridge all the time. The park map seemed to indicate that there was a back way into the campground; unfortunately the road was blocked right before entering the campground -- more backing up. After talking with the policeman again, we went over the bridge into the campground where the manager said he didn't really know about the weight limit (the signs had gone up only a couple of weeks earlier) but that big trucks from the lumber companies, the trash trucks, and heavy vehicles used the road all the time. The bathrooms were OK but the showers were not clean - one stall had a pile of cigarette butts and an old beer can on the floor. There was a $15 charge for using the dump station. We were not impressed with this campground
We camped in a very nicely maintained section of the campground, there is an older area that is downhill that looks like it could use some renovation and there is another area where there is expansion going on. Immaculate bathroom/shower/laundry facilities. Nice fishing pond on the property. The price seemed a bit high, though the proximity to HersheyPark (about 15 miles) is probably what allows them to charge so much.
Close to Monticello, Ash Lawn, and various Virginia wineries. Nice level spots though some are a bit close together. Well maintained facilities and friendly & helpful staff. We had a very pleasant camping experience here.
Very nice park with a lake close by. Most sites in shaded areas with lots of trees. Not too far from PA Turnpike. Signs concerning pet areas were a bit confusing. Bath houses were older but very clean, some were closed because of the time of year. Will definitely return in the spring or early summer.
Stayed at October Mountain for 2 nights. It's very convenient to Lenox, MA. Nicely maintained small campground; however, it is oddly situated on the side of hill across the street from an electric power transfer station. It appears most sites are for tents, only a few would accommodate RVs or trailers. Bathroom was very clean and shower stall was bigger than anticipated.
Beautiful natural setting: stayed here 3 days while exploring northwestern Massachusetts. Lots of notices about bear activity in the area and bear boxes for storing food: but we didn't see any bears. Some sites are more level than others. Bathrooms are old but clean. The showers need work, pitted concrete floor and the water mechanism is awkward. The dump station was not available for use when we were here. It was awaiting repair and apparently had been for some time.
Stayed one night at this KOA. Very convenient if you are visiting the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park or Poughkeepsie. Nice park with lots of amenities, there were certainly many family activities the night we were here. Very dog friendly as well. Very helpful staff. Sites in the "rally" area are quite close together, but other sections of the park appear to have better spacing. Weak WiFi and poor cable TV reception.
Stayed one night at the Copake KOA. Not too far from Bash Bish Falls in Western, MA. Lots of seasonal sites, some that appear to have been here for a very long time. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the campground seems to have been undergoing some renovations in the last few years; looks like there is still a bit of work to do. Nice new bathrooms. Wi-Fi was a bit weak. There were lots of family activities going on the night we were here.
Beautifully maintained campground with lots of amenities (though it was a bit too cold during our visit to take advantage of pools, tennis, hot tub or other outdoor options). Lovely setting over-looking the river. Wi-fi connection was good at our site, but that may not be the case at all sites.
Sites are bit close together, though during our visit there were very few customers, so privacy was not an issue. We were unable to connect to Wi-Fi Internet, the signal was too weak. The bathrooms were clean but the lighting needed improvement, particularly in the shower stalls. There was a problem with the water in the ladies shower during our visit which was quickly resolved when it was brought to the attention of management. Has easy access to Interstate 78.
Clean and well-maintained park, most sites seemed fairly level. There were very few customers at the time of our visit so it was very quiet. We weren't able to connect to the Wi-fi Internet as the signal was too weak.
Very nicely maintained campground. Most sites are shaded and well spaced, though some could be a bit more level. Bathrooms/showers are old but very clean. Definitely recommend this campground if you are traveling in northwest PA.
