There are no trails, but walking through the campground was pleasant enough. If you want to swim, you have to drive down the road to the lake. There is a small place to fish within the campground. This particular weekend the DNR was around often and the State Police even drove through a few times as well. They ran out of firewood on a Saturday night, we had to go to the gas station down the road to get some, which was okay because the bundles were bigger and dryer.

We found the sites to be very small and too close together for our taste. We arrived late at night after a very long drive and couldn't find the campground, or signs. After finding the Hotel there, the nice lady gave us directions and said it happens all the time. The park was confusing to navigate and we ended up in the wrong section and had to turn completely around (trailer and all) in order to get back to the correct spot. The park staff we encountered were very nice.

We love the rustic camping here. The sites are huge, and the cars and noise are minimal in the rustic areas. The park has a ton of trails and lakes. There is a very nice beach near the modern campground, just a short drive from the rustic areas. The park is set up so that trailers in the rustic areas also pass the dump station on the way in and out.
