This place has a family pool and an adults-only pool. Very cool! If you don't want to listen to kids (or parents yelling at kids), you have a choice. Short trip to Garden of the Gods park. We found the staff very cheerful and helpful. A little tricky pulling out onto the roadway, but we'd stay here again. Lots of shade, though it is never that hot in Colorado Springs. Untouched by the recent fires.
Great to have someone help you park, even at a pull-through. Another park with a great and inexpensive barbeque. Family run, even the middle-schooler helps out. We were only there for an overnight. Hope to return for a good look around. Lots of history in Cheyenne.
My only issue here was a bright light coming through the bedroom shades. So I draped a towel over the window to block it, no problem. Relatively easy to return to I-80. A train could be heard in the distance if you were outside. But we never heard it inside. I've been surprised at the number of full-timers permanently set-up at some parks. This place was well-maintained, very pleasant place for a few days touring. Don't miss the copper mine. Pretty amazing.
Pretty bare camping on a parking lot, but the Truckee River flows right behind the lot. The staff never failed to be professional and cheerful. Some kids next to us didn't observe the 10pm quiet time. They were in/out/in/out slamming doors until 11:30pm. They were otherwise polite, however. We were at the casino for an event and chose this park for convenience only. Would not stay again, need some green around me.
Another Good Sam discount. Access off I-80 via a roundabout was so easy. Helpful, friendly staff. Great base to explore Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake. When we needed to extend our leave time a couple hours to accommodate the check-in time at our next stop, there was no problem, especially since no one was coming in right behind us. We'd easily go again.
Pretty tight quarters but such a lovely spot right on the river. Landscaping top notch. Drive to the park/marina is through such a nice neighborhood. In town to visit friends so we didn't spend much time at the park. But we'd use it again.
Well, it is in the Mojave desert. So we should expect hot and dry. No phone service inside the park but go on a hill and you might get a signal. The water gave us a problem, to say it politely. Very salty. Glad we had fresh water from New Mexico on board. Just walk up the hill to the Ghost Town and spend the day, included in camping fee. Very interesting place. Pretty birds, chukkars, abound. And kangaroo rats (but they look like chipmunks). And bats at sunset. Didn't hate it, but we were glad to leave after 3 nights.
Very nice place. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Neighbors were especially friendly, too. Every Sunday there is a Pot Luck, with owners providing the meat. They were celebrating 30 years in business, so we were treated to special entertainment. Despite the rain, it was a wonderful experience. Short enough drive to Grand Canyon, we could stay all day. We'd use it again.
Really liked it here. Friendly, helpful staff. Good Sam discount took 10% off. Had a bad u-joint, they sent us to Bozo's, the best there is in our estimation. In 1 1/2 hour, we were back on the road and didn't feel like we'd been gouged. On-site BBQ made arrival day dinner easy. Lots of interesting things to see around Santa Rosa.
