We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Winchester. The site was very accessible and we were shown our site via golf cart. I had some problems with the cable hookup, and they came promptly and checked the post with a monitor which showed that I had an internal problem which I resolved. The cable itself is very basic with little on it but it provided our dogs with something to watch. The WiFi is Tengo Net and cost $10 for 4 days. It was OK but when I got my MiFi going it was much faster than the campground WiFi. The cost seems excessive for those of us who don't use the game room or other activities available. The campground is very clean. and the staff is very dependable and we would stay here again.
This is a small park located in Alamo, TX. I spent the winter here from Nov. until mid March. This is a destination park for those of us who have no desire for pools or organized activities. This park has onsite owners and there is a small meeting room with a pool table. It's where they hold dinners for various occasions such as birthdays etc. The restroom is cleaned daily and there is a clean laundry room with 2 washers and dryers. This is a great park for seeing the sights around the Rio Grande Valley. The Wi-Fi is excellent and some sites do have cable. If you're looking for an inexpensive ($195 per month with electric @ .12kw) place to spend the winter this is a good choice.
After spending the winter at this "resort" I would like to share my experiences. If a resort constitutes a horse shoe pit and a shuffle board court, then this is a resort. The Wi-Fi was slow and I was unable to connect on numerous occasions. The TV cable was so so, with the upper channels difficult to see due to "snow". The owners were not the least bit friendly and acted like they were doing you a favor by accepting your money. I will not stay at this park again.
I stayed at this park in April and November of 2010 and really liked it. Unfortunately there seems to be some changes being made and none of the pull through sites are available for those of us wanting to stay longer that a month. I traded motorhomes during this time and unfortunately there were no sites available that could accommodate my 40 footer so I was forced to move to another park. Hopefully the staff will reconsider their decision to only offer pull through sites to those staying for shorter periods.
I've been here since 11/18/2010 and will be staying until April. The rate above is based on a monthly rate. This is an excellent park run by very caring people who live on site. The grounds are taken care of and all the residents are very friendly. Most have been coming here for some time which indicates a good quality park.
