This is a small park along the Little River and at the dam spillway. It is small but very clean, well manicured and a with a wonderful manager. There is no pool or access to the river for tubing because of the dam, however within a block you can tube all day from one of the tubing companies for $8.00. This park offers no playground, if you are camping with small children you might look at one of the larger campgrounds in town. We would stay here again.
This is a beautiful park with the Little River running through it, you can tube from inside the park. We stay here in July and December every year. You are 1/4 mile from the enterance to the Smokey Mtn. Ntl. Park. and 14 miles from Cades Cove for bear and deer watching. Also, you are only 12 miles from Piegon Forge, 14 miles from Gatlinburg but in the small, peaceful town of Townsend. KOA offers gas, grocery and supplies, broasted chicken, ice cream and fudge. Also, they have hey rides, yes hey because the kids all yell hey to the other campers, water fights, outdoor movies and kids crafts. Just a wonderful place to stay.
This park was overpriced for off season in Florida, you must park out in the full sun, no picnic table, cable for long term residents only, and most of all the most ridiculous rules on dogs we have ever heard of. Never has an RV park told us our pet had to be driven to the pet walk area and if they used the lawn at the campsite for any reason it would be only 20 minutes before they knew about it. Pets are not allowed to be walked through the park so I could not tell you what the rest of the park looked like. They handed me an entire list of pet rules at check in. And, the funniest thing is the pet walk has a trash can to dispose of dog deposits located right next to the picnic tables for campers/picnickers to enjoy! The pool was clean and this campground caters to long term residents, not to the overnighters. We will not stay here again, it is worth the drive to stay in Mims at the KOA where they love campers and pets.
