Don Pedro is a wonderful lake, but the campgrounds are mostly average. The rangers are friendly and helpful, but they did nothing to enforce "quiet time" after 10pm. Friday night is an especially notorious party scene with people playing loud music, socializing, and generally having a good old time well past midnight. If you're not part of that scene then good luck trying to sleep. Saturday night was much quieter, mostly because the party crowd was exhausted after a full day on the lake with hangovers. Our particular site was not private at all, but there are some good spots to be had if you know the park. Although we plan to stay here again at some point, we are going to do our best to avoid Friday night.

What a great park - we loved it! The staff is friendly, the grounds and facilities are extremely well-kept, and the area is beautiful. The campsites are not especially private, but they are spaced a reasonable distance apart. This park is located among the trees and has a nice cozy feel to it. We had a great experience here and will definitely be coming back soon.

This is a nice park overall with very private sites among the trees and rhododendron bushes. There isn't much of a view from anywhere within the park, but it is a pleasant location. There is a very nice central lawn area with seating, horseshoe pits, and lots of open space. Although we enjoyed our stay here, this park is not without its quirks. They do not take credit cards, which means you will need to mail them a hard copy check for the deposit. They are a little grumpy about the park speed limit, and will race over to your site doing 30mph in order to remind you that the speed limit is 5mph. As long as you drive slow and remember to stop by the ATM before checking in, you'll like it here.

The good news is that you camp in very scenic locations right underneath the redwoods. And that's also the bad news. The roof of your RV is guaranteed to collect a healthy amount of leaves, needles, and twigs that will end up in all the nooks and crannies. None of the campsites are paved, and it's a challenge to keep the dirt from completely invading the inside of your RV as well. On the bright side, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and they will guide you to and help you park in your campsite. The bathrooms were clean but a bit cramped. Wi-Fi was inaccessible for the majority of our stay. The guest policy seems a bit overly restrictive (guests must pay and can only stay until 9pm). Overall, this is a very nice park in a great location with plenty of amenities nearby. We will definitely stay here again.

Not a bad park, although it wasn't entirely what we were expecting. Very close to sand dunes but it's a walk to the beach, and it's a bit pricey for what you get. Still, the proximity to Monterey and Carmel is nice, it's neat and clean, and it's easy to get to off of the freeway. Unfortunately, that also means you can hear the freeway from most of the park. Having a shorter trailer, we ended up in one of the smaller sites. It was a tight squeeze to get the trailer and SUV in side-by-side, which didn't leave us much room at all to use the picnic table, BBQ, and chiminea. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn't mind coming back, especially when we visit Laguna Seca Raceway again.

Very nice facilities all round - this park has some of the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen. Views of the Pacific are nice, but you have to cross a highway to get to the beach. Pull-through spots are nicely landscaped. The general store has everything you need, albeit in some type of organic version. (This could either be a plus or a minus, depending on your personal preferences.) Loads and loads of rules are a minor downer, but the upside is that there are no drunken campers roaring around the grounds in 4x4s with their stereos blasting. Overall, we love this place and can't wait to visit again soon.
