One of the very worst campgrounds that I have ever seen. You would literally have trouble maneuvering a V.W. bug around in here. We had a 30 ft. motorhome that was hanging over a cliff in the back and the front of the rig was still in the road. It was so bad that we left and moved down the road to a very nice KOA in Corbin.
This place had something for everyone. Pool, tubing, waterslide, hayrides and several other activities. This place was packed when we were there and the restrooms were still very clean and well maintained. Great little town with all kinds of things to do, but you never really have to leave the campground.
Beautiful setting for the entire park. The only negative was the restrooms and showers were a very long walk from some of the sites. The showers could stand to be updated a little. The had a BIG!!! beach and swimming area complete with a playground for the kids. We will for sure be back here again
Very convenient to area attractions and it even had a shuttle to the island ferries. The full hookups were nice, but they were not nearly as shaded as the water/electric only sites. A few weeds and piles of leaves detracted from the overall appearance. One of the bathrooms was having toilet issues, but that can happen anywhere. We would not hesitate to camp here again.
We have stayed at this park three or four different times over the past five years, and we have always found it to be very clean and comfortable. It is very easy to access from I-90 or I-35. The staff has always been very friendly and the bathrooms are always very clean. They just built a new meeting room that is very adequate. I wouldn't spend an entire vacation here, but it is great for a weekend or a one night stopover.
