This is beautiful park. Lots of space between sites, quiet, no road noise. Good layout; plenty of room to back in, and the sites are shady. All sites have good layer of gravel. The sites back up to a beautiful, clean creek and is good place to swim. The only drawback is the nearby town Marion has nothing to do and very few shops.
We stayed here in April in site 89. The campground is easy to maneuver in, very clean. The power had brownouts at night not weak enough to trip out AC but lights were dim. The wifi was weak at our site and occasionally lost signal. Our site was a pull through right on the road but the road has very little traffic so only occasional road noise. Good biking roads to beach. Beaches are very clean and not crowded. This is a good place to camp for touring Savannah. It is 12 miles from Savannah but the traffic is not bad and the roads are good. I would stay here again. Be sure to eat at Sweet Potatoes Restaurant when you vist Savannah the food is amazing.
We camped at A18, at this nice campground. We had plenty of room but no privacy, was right next to the road. The Wi-Fi was in and out, worse in the evenings. Best sites are on the creek, very shady. Biggest problem was power. We noticed our refrigerator kept switching from gas to electric and thought the refrigerator was on the blink. Found out later on a very warm day, there was not enough power to run the AC. Kept tripping the breaker. It was so bad when we used a fan the fan speed went up and down. Won't stay here again unless AC is not needed.
We stayed here a week in July. This was our 4th time here. It is still a great place sites are much wider and deeper than most. The campground is clean and quiet and has magnificent views. The WiFi and cable had excellent reception.
It has good proximity to Boone. A lot of pull through sites. Clean and cared for. Sites are on terraces and wider and deeper than normal. There is plenty of room to park a tow vehicle. A beautiful location a lot of trees at campsites with mountains visible from some sites. The staff and store are good with a nice recreation room. The Wi-fi did not work at my site. TV antenna reception not good. it needs cable which is why I rated it at 7. I would stay again.
Stayed 5 nights in August. Not crowded at all good utilities, good set up, a lot of shaded sites, no road noise, concrete pads most sites, easy to back into, good location to everything, beautiful stream deep enough for kayaks and tubing, lots of fish and ducks. Ice and newspaper on site, good Wi-Fi and cable. Owners obviously take a lot of pride in their site and are very nice. One small drawback the band practiced from noon until evening for a youth service (only 1 day) and the music got a little irritating after 5 hours. Will stay here again.
We camped in July. Plus: Utilities were good. Easy back in. Concrete pads. Painted picnic tables. Clean fire rings. Best set up of fire rings I have seen won't melt your RV. Gravel where needed. Friendly staff. OK store. You can walk to the upper end of the camp ground, enter the river and tube to the lower end (15 minute ride). Nice. Clean river. Quiet, no road noise. Minus: Overall kind of junky. Most sites are next to a small, shallow tributary of river. However the river is not actually visible except from the extreme East and West sites: big disappointment. Need to trim bushes on tributary so it is visible from campsites. Dam only open on weekdays but water is deep enough to tube anyway. Only 5 channels on cable TV. One thing that was odd was the "NO Trespassing Private Property" signs regarding the river on the lower end of the campground and in the tributary; limits ability to explore river below campground and makes you think there are angry property owners adjacent to campground. Would camp here again if I could not find anywhere else.
We camped next to the creek, it was clean and beautiful. The sites are spacious, the largest I have ever seen and easy to back into. All utilities were excellent. All sites had gravel and grass, ( no mud to be seen anywhere) even after a morning shower. The park staff was very friendly. The only problem; some jerk 4 sites down thought everyone loved to here his Harley idle as much as he did. The only improvement this campground should make is require all motorcycles to park at the entrance and not allow them into the campground. We camped in Myrtle Beach during motorcycle weekend, the campground we stayed at had the above requirement and we didn't hear a Harley all weekend. It was wonderful.
We camped here in June on the lake (very large pond). The campground is very clean, good size pool, good security, the camp store is well stocked, utilities are excellent. The owners are friendly and helpful take pride in their campground. The lake sites are a little close but the remainder are roomy and very well laid out. The campground had a fishing tournament and all the kids caught a lot of fish and had a great time.Close to Asheville and Hendersonville. Would stay here again, but not on the lake.
We camped here on motorcycle weekend; we don't own a motorcycle. We had no problems. The bikes were parked at the entrance and were not allowed in the campground, could not even tell the rally was going on until we left the grounds. Check in was a breeze. The sites are roomy and clean. Bath houses and pools are immaculate. Surprisingly quiet place with little traffic. The only reason I gave less than perfect they charge for the Wi-Fi. We camped on the lake, watch out for the gator. We are going back again this year.
Beautiful, roaring, clean river next to campsite. Huge boulders all around. Great views. A little tight entering campground but sites have plenty of room. Highly recommended. Book in advance they are always full.
Sites were very small. Need gravel at sites only bare dirt/mud. Bad road noise constantly from Hwy. 279 Nice stream. Shady locations, Decrepit permanent residence travel trailers, and weird people in them. Their are a lot better sites within 3 miles. Would rather stay home than go back.
