We had 3 sites reserved and needed to move the reservations out 1 month. Won't go back now. We'd rather lose the $90.00 than to accomodate the owners with their "Rules!" Didn't want to cancel, just move the reservations to May. NOPE! Couldn't do it. "Just the rules" We won't EVER return to Crooked Creek. Bad attitude and in this economy a really foolish 'rule'!
Nice, wide and mostly private sites....train whistle nearby is sometimes ill timed. Quiet, clean and good workers. Restrooms a tad dated but pretty clean. Overall a great trip. Better during the week when it fills to capacity with children.
Interior roads were in terrible condition: muddy and no drainage to speak of. The pull-thru meant that if someone got there 1st, they pulled forward of you and now someone comes from behind and now two rigs are locked in. Tenting on the river was probably nice. Restrooms are dated and no GFI in the shower room area. Sites overgrown and too many yellow jackets for us. Picnic tables were rotten and couldn't be used. Should have known...they had vacancies on Labor day weekend.
Great spot (on the hill) with full hookups and wide sites. Easy in and out. Interior gravel roads could be better but passable. Mtn views from up top are the best in N. GA. Showers are 'new', clean and easy access for all bathers. Overall, a great spot and horse back riding on the property. Probably our favorite in N.GA.
