The name should be "Carmel by the River that you can't see or use". I fish and was hoping to, but unfortunately you can't fish or swim in the river - which I never saw anyway. However, this is a very quiet and well groomed park. Very close to Carmel and Monterey. Entrance to Pebble Beach is only 5 miles and worth the $500, if you are a true golfer. Wi-fi actually works very well, but you will need a dish that points to get any satellite reception. They do have cable, about 10 channels. Getting in is a challenge, unhook, your toad before you cross the one lane bridge. We would return.

This is a parking lot but a nice one. Spaces are just big enough, some have bay views. Security is top notch. Location is excellent, biking and walking along Mission Bay is fantastic. Lots to do on weekends. I would recommend this park strongly if you want to explore San Diego. There is a big dip in the road as you pull in but take it slow and you will be fine. Stayed a week . Would return.

I was hesitant to stay here because of the negative reviews but it's the only show in town. It was worse that I had anticipated. I almost had to detach my toad while pulling in, cleared the wall by an inch while cars where honking getting off the freeway. To get to our spot we had to drive thru the park, which is not easy, exit the park and then re enter thru another exit. You had better be an experienced driver to stay here. I watch a guy in a 36ft motorhome take about 30 min to jockey into his spot. Only a wall separates this park from the freeway. You will be within 10ft from the freeway in some spots. Noise is constant. There is no room to walk around for exercise and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. All this for a mere $66 a night. We have been on the road for 7 months, staying at about 35 campgrounds, this is BY FAR the worst. I'm not telling you not to stay here, it is the only location in SB, but be prepared. The women who lives here running the park is very sweet.

We love Lazy Days in both Tampa and Tucson. Tucson campgrounds are great. They have about 20 premium sites that are really nice, lots of grass. There were 2 clubs from Cali there, which made it even more fun. Pool, workout room and bar area are all well done. Happy hour is awesome. Restaurant is fine. Easy to access. Everything in Tucson - with plenty to do and see. Park is large enough to bike and walk around.

Absolutely fantastic state park. Layout is great, sites feel private with plenty of room. Many sites have views of valley looking towards Fort Pendelton. You will hear artillery fire from time to time. Great location to access Trestles surf areas. Car sticker gives you free access to San O's beach. Easy access to San Clemete and Dana Point. Staff was very friendly. We stayed here for 2 weeks. Week days are empty, weekends are full. We will be back. Check for park closing due to military ops.

I read so many reviews about this campground being unfriendly etc. Not the case. They do have strict rules but nothing unfair. We set up a tent for 2 of the 8 nights we were there and no one said a word about it. The views are just amazing. The campground is tiered so almost everyone can see the ocean. We had site 91. Sites 90-91-92 are all by themselves on a separate perch - amazing. It's expensive, but the only show in town. We will be back.

Location. Location. Location. Right at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. New owners are friendly. Site is a bit rustic. Has mini-golf course and small lake. Hard to get satellite but they do have numerous dishs around the park.

Great park with one of the best views you will ever see from a camp site. Limited sites with direct views, so book in advance. Other sites are very nice, nestled in the woods atop a mountain. Staff is friendly. The grounds keeper is awesome. Be prepared for difficult entrance road. One lane, steep uphill with sharp turns. We camped in a 40 foot rig and would return.
