Breathtaking campground. Trout fishing within a few feet of all the sites. Fantastic views! Quiet! You can choose a site in the woods or choose lake front, depends on your size rig. (we had a 23 ft travel trailer: lake front.) The two guys who run the cg were very hospitable. No electric, site water or dump. They do have potable water where you can fill your camper. It is 6 miles from Silverton and numerous jeep trails and dump station. Right off the "Million Dollar Hwy" (550) south of Silverton.
Carter Lake - South Shore Campground. Very clean, waterfront with boat ramp and dock. The folks working there were extremely friendly. Our site was a pull through with plenty of room. Bushes and small tree between the pull-through sites allowed for some privacy. Fishing is supposed to be pretty good. Shade throughout the campground. Nice. Nice hiking trail in the woods, along the Westside of the lake. We will stay here again. Enjoy!
The whole campground is in the trees with great shade. Awesome scenery. Beautiful state park with fun activities for kids. Fishing ponds, playground, ranger talk in the amphitheatre, and a hiking trail geared specifically towards kids. There are 50 miles of different hiking trails for all types. There is a nice dump station and several potable RV water fill stations. Bathrooms are very clean. All of the folks working there were fantastic. They were knowledgeable of the area and seemed pleased to help in any way. We drove through the whole campground and noticed that 99% of the campsites were all great sites. We loved this place and will definitely go back again.
