This is a very nice, well run campground. They even gave us a free coffee mug when we checked in! The river runs around the campground and it is just beautiful. They have events every weekend and it is a very nice, fun loving group of people. The only negative we had was that you can't use the washer in your RV, because of the septic system. But they do have a nice laundry. They only have a few 50 amp sites so you need to reserve early. I highly recommend this campground.

We were very frustrated when we found out that we had to pay an extra daily fee to use the air conditioning in our RV. This fee was not mentioned when we made the reservation. Also, the music from the nearby bar was extremely loud on the weekends. The site was extremely unlevel. We really enjoyed the Adirondack golf course. It is a good location with Lake Placid and Fort Ticonderoga not too far. When you are there we recommend visiting Ausable Chasm and do the float trip or the tube ride. Overall an okay campground, but just be aware of the issues mentioned above.

Overpriced! It is by the lake, but not near shopping or the convenience of Burlington, VT. We booked earlier and were required to put a $150 deposit. We checked the campground out the week before our stay and we were very disappointed because we expected a "resort" for this price and we were "underwhelmed." We called and they would not refund the $150 so we stayed for 3 days to cover the deposit and left as unsatisfied as we knew we would be. We did have a nice long site but it was very unlevel! It was no where near full in early August so I would recommend, unless it is a holiday weekend, not making a reservation in advance.

Price reflects weekly rate with additional electric. You should be aware that in addition to the campground fee you will be charged 20 cents per kwh that you use. I don't mind the electric fee going to the producer, but I do mind a campground making money on it as 20 cents is more than what they are paying. Also, it would be nice to know about this charge in advance when I made the reservation. In addition, this campground is in need of some maintenance. They advertise that they can handle big rigs but they don't trim the trees. We got quite a few scratches which could have been avoided if they trimmed the trees. The space between our site and our neighbor is not much wider than a picnic table. When I booked I requested a space without trees to get satellite coverage. The first site we were sent to with assurances that we would get satellite. However, we could not get satellite coverage. We even checked the entire site with an align-a-site tool and there was no way any motorhome could get satellite in that site. We finally found a site that we could get coverage, but it was literally in a puddle of mud. Every time you had to dump the blackwater we had to wade through the mud. The mud also contributed to our inability to level the coach on the site. Yes, they did get a lot of rain, but they did not bother to put any additional gravel on the site to make it habitable. When we arrived the fire pit was right at the bottom of our steps in an unsafe location, and it was full of cigar stubs. When I checked in with a Good Sam $5 certificate they rudely snapped that they don't accept these. We don't mind paying a little more for a nicer campground, but this campground was not worth the price.

Great customer service! The electricity was not hooked up in our site the first night, so they gave us the first night free even through we already got one night free in the week rate (the rate shown does not include the comped night for the electrical outage). There is lots to do in the area including great bike trails, very nice golf courses and lots for the kids to do in the park.

This campground was just perfect for us. The rate reflects a weekly rate. The park is close to the City of Hayward and Spooner with lots to see and do. It is exactly as the other reviews say it is. We had a nice level lot, lots of space between rigs, and great satellite reception. I can't say enough about how wonderful the owners are. They came over to the rig to let us know about community activities and also to bring us some vegetables they had to pick as the weather was getting too cold to leave them on the vine. Also, not mentioned in the other reviews, is the fact that they offer free wood for campfires. We loved this campground and would definitely stay here again.

You have to go to the Lodge to check in which is as far away from the campground as you can get. The campground is down the road from the casino. The sites are in a very tree filled area making it very difficult to back in a big rig. The sites are not very wide making it a very tight fit with slides. The nightly price is very reasonable and the weekly rate of $45 is even better. But, with no satellite and the limited access and size of the site we had to cancel our reservation and find another campground.

The $43 fee for one night is based on the $21 per night plus an $8 reservation fee plus the $8 daily motor vehicle non resident fee for the motorhome and a $6 non resident towed vehicle duplicate. They don't tell you about the additional motor vehicle fees on the website until after you have made the reservation. If you want to cancel you have to pay the $8 reservation fee plus a $10 cancellation fee. This is the worst value for any camp site we have ever experienced especially when you consider the fact that you have no water and no sewer for $43 a night! This park has are all grassy sites with the exception of the handicap sites. Although it claims to have big rig access, it is really not big rig friendly. The sites were very soft from all the rain and there were deep dug in tire marks from rigs that got stuck. There are also many trees located close to the site entrance making it difficult if not impossible for a big rig to enter the site. Big Rigs and Non-Residents are not welcome in Michigan State Parks!
