First impressions were great. I was set to give this KOA a strong 9 - but they are so technologically challenged that I simply can't do it. The Wi-Fi is intermittent at best, and one of their employees actually challenged me to diagnose the problem and tell me what was wrong, when the answer is obvious: their sub-par satellite system simply cannot take the load. Cell service was simply non-existent and cable TV was snowy. Welcome to 1980! Conversely, the staff, store and bath house were top notch, and the sites were acceptable. Overall however, grossly overpriced for the services (not) provided.
Excellent campground. We actually found this campground last year when we were looking for some way to escape "Yogi's Ghetto Adventure" in nearby Portage. This simple state park campground is a wonderful stop for a long weekend. With no water or sewer, I can't give it more than an 8, but still definitely recommend it.
With everything this park has going for it regarding activities, I was sure this was going to be a slam dunk 10. Then I encountered the nightly "cruisers" with their sub-woofers turned up to 100 watts or so. Frankly, there was no attempt to even slightly conceal the under-age drinking there. Even though there is a private "security force" with some really spiffy uniforms, they turned a blind eye to the drinking and a deaf ear to the loud music. The kids in our group had a great time, I was just surprised at the lack of management presence during the evening hours when the problems were taking place.
Literally the worst excuse for a "campground" we have ever encountered. In fact it is simply a collection of rotting permanent and semi-permanent trailers on cramped sites. Would never recommend this place under any circumstances. I've sent email to Jellystone (like someone above did) asking why they would allow their name on such a place, as I can find nothing to justify it. Clearly we will never go back.
