This is a very nice campground that can be either a short stay, or destination campground. The sites are all concrete and the roads are gravel. The gravel roads are the one negative for this campground. The gravel is large and sharp and makes a poor walking surface for people and dogs. Hookups are good. The cable TV has only a few channels. Wifi is available for part of the campground close to the office/clubhouse. The wifi in the office/clubhouse is excellent. It is available in the laundry 24 hours per day even if the office is closed. We highly recommend this campground.
Thia campground is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina, but is showing improvements each time we are there. The grass has not grown back, yet. Where the grass has not grown back, there are wood chips. Some areas can still be muddy with a hard rain. The rates are reasonable and can be reduced or comped completely depending on the amount of gaming done. The wifi continues to be very spotty and does not work well even in the places that a signal can be received. One is frequently dropped even after receiving a signal. This campground does make a good place to stop. The shuttle service to the casino is excellent.
Campground is the same beautiful facility that it always has been. However, the friendliness that used to be an important part of this campground has disappeared. There is a new manager, and, while he is doing many things that need to be done (such as installing new washers and dryers) the relationship with the staff and work campers has totally changed. We were there the last part of February, 2008 and the tension throughout the park could be cut with a knife and was very unpleasant. Although, we have stayed there several times before, we are questioning whether we will return.
