the camp occupies a large acreage with many pull through sites but the park borders a large river and was underwater for lengthy period earlier this year or last year. Our 50amp breaker malfunctioned and the new owner changed it immediately citing water as the culprit. It rained our only night there and water and mud was everywhere. The laundry room being renovated due to water damage. It has the potential to be a nice place for an overnight or extended stay if not for the current water issues. The new owners friendly and helpful. It needs rock and cosmetic attention.
Large acreage (100 acres) with steep gravel roads and large deep ruts between road and sites. Appears more like a state park than RV campgrounds. Many activities including trails for 4-wheelers and horses, Petting zoo, two fishing lakes, and live band type entertainment. Web site appears accurate except this facility is not big rig friendly with the steep terrain and ruts. We arrived on Friday night and stayed one night. On site manager friendly and gave us our choice of available sites.
Large facility that was packed on the one weekday night we stayed there. 8X8 tent size restriction, many campfires, long sites. Very much big rig friendly and Good Sams discount. The park brochure indicates a charge for WiFi.
It is picturesque with greenery and wild berries but not big rig friendly. There are narrow sites and lots of mature trees that inhibit satellite reception. The owners were friendly and strictly enforced quiet time. No sewer hookups were available when we were there (full hookups limited to permanent units), just a small 250 gallon drop tank that had to be pumped three times. Our friends who stayed there in a pop-up at the same time reported clean showers and restrooms but we did not use them. The sandy terrain and very high iron water that left rust everywhere. We had AT&T phone which had no reception.
Owners worked hard to provide all a pleasant stay. On site food service/restaurant was reasonably priced with great food. Clean pool, shaded and unshaded sites, all of which are level and most pull through. Some sites were narrow but hopes to construct wide sites in the future. Two shower houses (handicap accessible), one laundry room, and hot tub - none of which we used. Ample dog walk access and plenty of dumpsters. Previously mentioned cooked to order Pizza was above average. We stayed for one week and got to know staff well. First KOA ever for us but a very positive first impression.
