Rate is Good Sam. Nice sites. Previous reviewer is confused. There are picnic tables, but the park is quite close to Hwy 45 and to a railroad track. Pretty noisy, but tolerable. Entering and leaving is a challenge, as main road is busy and hilly, with limited visibility as you turn on. Sites vary a lot in size. Ours was plenty wide, and reasonably level. We would stay again.
Very nice, clean place. Pretty stark, with no trees or views to speak of. Amenities work very well- wifi, cable, etc. Easy trip to St. Charles Main Street, which is an absolute jewel. Be sure to try the restaurant (Beefeaters) that is on site. It is terrific.
It has no charm, but is level, quiet and convenient. The cable and internet worked well. The office was often unstaffed, but manager/owner lives nearby and keeps an eye on it. They make a big deal out of using electric heaters, with signs stating that you will be evicted if you use one. We were not sure if that applied to our electric fireplace or not, so we refrained from using it. The tone of the notice is unpleasant. Overall, ok for an overnight.
Sites by the river are so close you can throw a rock to hit the barges that go by. We liked that, some might not. Sites are large and level, but very stark. Basically a big parking lot. People are nice. Good access to Memphis. We would return.
If you can deal with the lack of sewer and internet, this place may be the best campground you will ever see. The sites are huge, and gorgeous, the park is beautiful, and the rangers and crafts people are friendly and helpful. There is no cable, but broadcast TV is good. We stayed 3 nights, and would go back.
Terrific people, with lots of planned activities. Picturesque setting, with the train and lake. TV arrangement is a little strange, with some channels on cable and network (and a few others) broadcast over the air. Switching back and forth requires re-scanning every time. Sites are large and pleasant, with good landscaping. There is an overflow area that is not as nice, so be sure you are int the "lower' area. Overall, a 10, because the plusses far outweigh the drawbacks. We stayed 2 weeks, and made arrangements to go back for a month in March.
