Free WI-FI was great. Only the center spots are paved, the side ones are lacking ... pads were level gravel, but then we had a rain and to get out of our camper we had to step through/in large puddles. VERY close to town! You'll love how close it is but still relatively quiet. A few full timers that work super early - 4:30am we got a wake up call from our neighbors truck. Asked him to move so not to wake our kids and was kind about it. It certainly is nothing fancy, but it seems that they are working on improvements and enlarging. Wish they would improve what's there before they enlarged. Affordable laundry. PA rate.
Rate based on weekly rate. Of which we only used 4 nights. Loud vehicles racing through the park late night/early morning (11:30pm until 1:30am). Office alarm going off in the middle of the night (4am). If you have a golf cart, you'll love this place and it's golf cart races that seem to go on all day. On the good side: it's almost empty, so you can choose your site. It has a mini golf course and a jump pillow for the kids. Will not stay here again.
Little more than a parking lot with some electrical hook ups - with the exception of the larger, more permanent residence area. We came in late at night in an emergency and found a spot in the perm. area. We were told we couldn't stay there. No problem, we were planning on leaving anyway.
Apparently this camp is under new management and has done a great job of improving the facility. We were in the C circle, by the rec center and were able to grab the free Wi-Fi they offer INSIDE the center. Tons of places to walk and be entertained. Good antenna reception. Tons of activities to do there on site (WOW!!) as well as not being too far from the Orlando craziness of the theme parks. We would definitely stay here again.
This place has seen better days. Many sites were still very wet and/or muddy from the floods of a month ago and while we were there, more rain left us getting out into puddles and then no power. Wi-Fi available for $$. Pool seasonal. Had originally planned for more days, but with what we saw when we pulled into our site, we immediately changed our reservations to only one night, which they were very accommodating with. Sewer connection very far back - check before you set up your rig.
Bare bones basic with a free Wi-Fi as a bonus. In comparison to some of the other parks in the area, this is a nice one. Super close spaces, but the owner will help guide you into your spot. Simple and less than half a mile from Charlotte Motor Speedway.
A couple of our nights were PA rate but the weekend was full price ($30). We were there on a busy weekend. Not sure if anyone actually lives on site, but it was LOUD until almost 1am. Employees were very nice and easy to work with. Beautiful countryside. Pull throughs could be difficult if you had a longer vehicle ... ours is a 30' fiver and we had a harder time with some of the corners. Internet was free but didn't work. Company who services their internet doesn't work weekends. Bathrooms were sparkly clean and they had a nice play area for the kids as well as a small, enclosed dog run for some off leash time.
Rating is based on comparison to other parks in the area. The Concord area is home to NASCAR and as such, the campgrounds are, for the most part all bare bones lots. They were great with our kids and love our new puppy we got while we stayed there (2 months). What is so great about this one is that it is so close to the track: 8/10 of a mile. Easy access to the freeways, shopping and dining. We would stay here again. Rate was monthly. Nightly when we were there was $30.
This campground would have been even better had we been able to use the pool, game room or other areas that were off limits due to a large group coming in, but it is overall, very nice. Definitely kid friendly. Laundry was small but clean. Internet, even close to the main building was just completely overwhelmed with too many people to have any sort of connection. Used AT&T instead (which had good coverage there, but not necessarily in the area ) ... In the super sites, you get a loaner Dish receiver and then plug into that. Rate was PA for a super site.
Traveling cross country (literally across from west coast to east), we've stayed at a variety of campgrounds so far, and this hands down is the very best we've stayed! Super clean, garbage pick up, sparkling new swimming pool/spa that were absolutely perfect when the weather was hot. The photos on their website actually don't do it justice. Truly a gem! What I would create if I was making my own campground.
