This was our second trip to Tom's Cove. This Park is large! We stayed in "O" section on the corner and were able to glimpse the bay that the park is situated on. Most of the sites are nicely shaded with a few exceptions. Our daily activities to the beach, biking, kayaking, and a quick trip to the NASA visitor center kept us out of the park for 80% of our duration. But while in Camp, we enjoyed strolling down to the dock and letting the kids play in the playground. The pool looked nice, but maybe a little small for the amount of people it had to accommodate (it was packed.) The store was packed to the gills to accommodate anything you could possibly need and then some. The bathrooms/showers could use a little TLC to make them more comfortable, even something as simple as an exhaust fan could remove the feeling like your sitting in a sweat box. The showers while clean, were difficult to get yourself changed into dry clothes. The floors were soaked and you had to leave with a towel draped around you to change back at the trailer or you had to do a shuffle/dance to change in the miniature stall to get yourself dressed without soaking your dry clothes. That aside, we'll definitely be coming back and will probably pay the extra $10-$15 / night fee to have a bay side site.

This was our second outing in a new to us, Tent Trailer. This park was fabulous, with paved roads, well stocked store, miniature bay side beach (I hear there's a Tiki bar here now too). The fact that Assateague is only a 5 minute drive one direction and Ocean City is 10 minutes in the other direction is a perk that can't be beat! But with a campground this fantastic, the law of supply and demand will keep us from coming back frequently. The preseason rate of $47/night high, but manageable. In season rates will keep us out until next year.

I'm new to camping in RV parks, so take this review for what it's worth. I've stayed in two other parks up to this point, and both were Beach Based (Castaways and Toms Cove). But this was by far the best I've stayed in. Our goal was simple, a camping trip with just Dads and Kids (4 years old to 12). We just wanted to enjoy their company keep it simple. We originally had grandiose plans to take advantage of all the area has to offer like hiking and biking, but the on site activities kept us planted for the duration. We stayed in tent trailers on all grass sites near the lake and fished, boated, played in the streams, game room and playground. The pool was "refreshing" (not heated) but was perfect for the ambient temperature. The store was stocked well enough for our purposes as we came well equipped. The park is extremely kid friendly. The operators strictly enforced the 5mph speed limit and will boot you if you do not comply. They will actually escort you out of the park and "let" you try it again if you don't get it right the first time. The toilets and showers near the pool are the nicest but both were very well maintained. My only complaint if you could call it one, was that the "upper bath house" near the pool did not have steps of any kind leading up to them. So the multiple trips to the bathroom with my two young ones were exhausting walking up and down an extremely large grass hill to get to the toilets. Not to mention the fact that the grass becomes very slippery with the dew of early morning or late evening. (I won't let the little one's drink as much juice next time!) That aside, we're already planning a second trip to this campground for Aug/Sept.
