The staff was great. They bent over backwards to help us extend our stay on the river without moving our site. The park is well maintained and offers a lovely beach area for campers and a great little beach for dogs. We were in a river site and found it was not quite "on" the river, rather, about 200 feet away. The site was spacious and shady, but our fiberglass picnic table was warped. Overall the park is well laid out with wide paved roads for easy maneuvering in and out of sites and around the park. The only drawback was that there was a lot of dry grass and muddy areas between patches of green grass at the sites. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay. We would return to this park.
We cannot say enough about this park. It was peaceful, friendly, and best of all, right on the lake. Great shade trees and very pet friendly. The park is located in a game preserve, so the very tame deer and flock of turkeys visit the sites often. Be sure to keep food stored as the deer will eat practically anything you leave out. The grassy sites are fairly level, but can be a bit mushy. The only slight hindrance was that drivers tend to ignore the 25 mph speed limit as they pass by the camp area. The dock needs repair, but it was a pleasure to sit there and watch the great sunsets. We will definitely return to this park!
This is the park for you if: you enjoy being stuffed into a small site like a sardine, don't need much sleep and love the sound of freeway noise all day and night (as though you are parked on the freeway shoulder and not in an RV park); enjoy stepping out of your rig literally within 2 - 3 feet of your neighbor's sewer connection; like reaching out your window and touching your neighbor's awning; don't want to be bothered with having any space to sit outside your rig; get a thrill out of paying resort prices and getting far less quality; and like the scenic appeal of a quarry on your way to the park. On the bright side, the staff was cheerful and welcoming. We will not be back to this park.
