Very nice campground. Very quiet and peaceful. Most sites are shaded and fairly level. Nice pool and fishing pond for the kids. If your looking for a place to just relax for a few day's this is the place. Staff is extremely friendly and willing to help you at all costs. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was that some of the sites are a little small. We will be going back often.
This state park is wonderful. The sites are huge, level and most are shaded. All the activities are a short drive on the other side of the park. Nice lake to fish on and very quiet. Fresh water faucets are plentiful through out the CG to fill your tanks and dump station is centrally located. I would recommend this State Park to stay at for a few day's at a time only due to the lack of amenities for kids.
We can not say enough good things about this CG. Every site is shaded, all sites are just about level, clean rest rooms and showers and lot's to do for the kids. This CG is beautiful and very well maintained. The owners really know how to run a campground. The roads are a little narrow but even the big rigs can make it. We really liked the "adult only" time every night at the indoor pool. The one thing that we would suggest is to have a few more washers and dryers available, with 300 sites 10 washers just isn't enough. We will be going back often. Do not skip this CG.
Without a doubt, one of the nicest CG's we have stayed at. It is a little pricey, but it is well worth it. All the activities they have for kids are great. We stayed in the lower sites and really enjoyed it. The CG is hilly but it is only a short drive to the top. Most sites are level and shaded, the "Pines" area does seem to have larger sites, but most of the activities are in the lower section. If you plan on going to town, take the trolley, it's cheap and easy.
I need to state first that we did not stay in this campground. We made reservations (3 tent and 1 cabin) several months ago for a family reunion and 2 weeks ago I received a letter stating all the extra fee's for visiting guests and their cars. After adding up all the charges, it would have cost us more than the site fee's. I called to cancel the reservation, but was rudley told that I had waited to long and would be charged the full amount even if I did not show up. The fee's are not posted anywhere, I received the letter with less than the required time to cancel and was treated poorly by the manager. At one point I was told " o bad, we can charge what we want" and then they hung up on me. I am contacting KOA to lodge a complaint. Even though I have never been there, I would not recommend this campground based on the way I was treated.
Very nice camp ground. Very friendly staff and they go out of their way to may your stay nice. Great place to base your vaction from, there is so much to do in the local area. Sites are large and some are shaded. Most are level but a few need a little attention. Nice little camp store and pool as well.
This is a DoD run recreation center located in Southern Maryland and is the gem of the East coast. Extremley well kept, many activities for all ages. Fishing, golf, pool, crabing, paddle boats, and game room are just to name a few. Sites are all level, some concrete pads. Most roads are paved, a few are hard packed gravel. Some sites are larger than others but all are a decent size. This campground is located right on the Patuxent River and has a beach as well. You must be active/retired military or DoD employee to get access. Camp ground is open all year. Rates vary by paygrade and payscale. Without a doubt I would recommend this camp ground.
We used this campground as a "shakedown" site for our new trailer in early spring. A few seasonal campers and that was about it. The grounds are average but from what we saw they were working on getting them ready for the summer. Nice pool and stocked fishing pond for the kids. Great place to base your vaction if you want to visit DC. The sites are fairly large and level and most sites are shaded. The tent area is huge and actually looked rather nice. Very quite at night and during the day as well. No campstore but stores are just a few minutes down the road.
We camped here on Memorial day weekend 2005. Great service, friendly people and sites were nice. Some sites do require some extra attention as far as leveling is concerned but over all I would recommend this campground. A lot of stuff for the kids and adults as well.
