I had a great stay at this campground. I stayed for 4 nights and had a different but good bartender each night. This is a new Campground and Bar. The sites are level. The water has an orange tint to it. That is a small problem for that area. The RV inline filter won't strain it out. I met the owner and he was also very friendly. They are also Motorcycle and ATV friendly. Trail access from the Campground they say. I would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay here! Our site was nice and level. Our site could have been mowed better though. We had an electric site that had 20amp, 30amp and 50amp available. We had a large fire ring with a hinged cooking grate on it. The mosquitoes and fly's were tolerable. Because of the drought, their flower/plant garden was all but dead. Bike trails and cross country ski trails available. Ice and campfire wood available and for sale. They have a dump station, recyclables and garbage dumpster available. The dump station's water rinsing hose had a bad leak in the hose, so you had to be careful not to showered on. Great hiking trails with a 520' bluff, ridge and a peak to climb. A black Walnut Nature trail for those of you who like trees. All in all a great stay.
We had an electric site number 205E with 30 amp power. Fire rings are bigger than most campgrounds. There were very few mosquitoes! At night you can see many fireflies. There is a small but cool cave on their many hiking trails. There are at least 4 scenic overlooks in this park. The views are the most spectacular in the state of Wisconsin. From some of these views, you can see where the the Wisconsin River meets the Mississippi River. There is so much to see here, we couldn't get it all in, in three days. We're definitely going back sometime soon.
There are two ponds that are viewable from some sites; cannot swim in either. There is ATV trail access from this campground. The dump station is at the Convenience Center, before you enter the campground. They have a dumpster. All the sites looked pretty level. Our site we rated a 7 because of gravel and trees. We found other sites though that we would rate higher. We'll be back!
A good portion of the water and electric sites are permanent sites. So definitely call ahead and make reservations for water and electric sites. Most of those sites are not level, so bring plenty of leveling boards. There is a LOT of room there for tent camping and primitive RV camping. They do have a dump station. They have two lakes on the property. The owners are very kind and very accommodating. This is my 5th year there for the summer Twister motorcycle event. I will be back again next year!
Nice place. All sites appeared to have 50a, 30a, 20a service with water. One dump site at the South entrance. They had a relatively new shower building that they give you a key for; but we didn't need it. The fairgrounds are huge! Nothing was happening here the weekend we camped though; so it was a pretty quiet weekend. We'd definitely camp here again. Very inexpensive at $18 a night for both water and electric. TV and radio reception was good being in the city. Motorcycle friendly also.
We enjoyed our stay there! We were here 5 days and 4 nights in a Toy Hauler. They have ATV trail access. It looked like all RV sites had cable TV, water, electric, sewer, picnic table and fire rings were available. Our site had 30 amp service. Recreation room included a pool table, fooze ball table, TV, VCR and lots of couches. In an adjoining room there were two washers and dryers. There was a primitive, 6-hole miniature golf. Boats and firewood were also available. Other than the fact that they didn't mow the grass; we enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again!
This is an adults only campground. We had a great time here! At the bar parking lot, there was a car show on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday nights car show was exceptional; because bikes, cars and trucks were all doing smokey burn-outs for over 3 hours with a crowd of over 500 people! The host was very nice and very hospitable. We had a pull through site with water and electric. our site was perfectly level. They have a dump site near the entrance. They list 86 sites; but they don't list how many additional tent sites are in there "group tent area". I estimate there are 24 tent sites in that area with 12 electric boxes and no water. The bar, showers, pool, campground all appears to be new so everything is in exceptional shape! The only low points were: the grass should have been cut and the site water was yellowish and cloudy all weekend. So bring your bottled water. Aside from that, we'll definitely go back soon.
This park is as nice as you will find. We were lucky enough to snag the best waterfront site there. Restrooms/Showers were all new and clean. There are two dump sites that were both clean. We had their Friday night fish fry and it was very good. All the staff were friendly. We had waterfront with water and 30 amp electric service. We'll definitely be back again soon!
