If this park were anyplace else we would probably rate lower than a 9. But, despite a remote location you get a swimming pool, nearby grocery and fuel and, of course, Monument Valley. Do not bother to clean your RV before arrival. Red rock becomes powdery dirt. Your steps will be red as will your shoes. . . .and of course your floors/carpets if you don't remove your shoes before entering your RV (we always do). But it is worth it for the location. There is no 3G access (1x only). Because everyone tries to use the camp internet it is no faster than 3G. But what the heck, you're surrounded by red rock and should be outside anyway!
Though rated as a 6, it is probably the best park in town from our observation, which is too bad because Flagstaff is a great place to visit. Sites are not level (tilted to the side). Some have concrete patios; ours was dirt, lots of dirt. We love Flagstaff and will stay at this park again, but will check out the concrete patios. Sites are narrow and if you have cigarette smokers next to you they will be directly below your window. We had three chain smokers.
Access road is in very poor condition, but worth the trip in. Try to get site on the river (advance reservations needed). They are building more on-river sites. The only reason to stay here is to see the Mississippi River. No pool or other activities. Short drive across the river to Memphis. Gravel sites are mostly level. Park employees very friendly and helpful.
Long sites for big coaches but most pull throughs are very slanted. We were there for three weeks and unable to use pool or hot tub because seldom cleaned. Owner is very helpful and personable. Though we stayed for three weeks while "touring" Austin and the Hill Country, this is really a short stay place. Our rate is based on monthly.
