Nice park, but very expensive. Fairly cramped, but site was level and clean. Pool was nice, as was the spa. Good services offered in office, and staff was very friendly. Despite their ads, however, they are not the closest park to Disneyland. We did like it overall, but next time (this was our second time there), we'll probably check out one of the other places, mainly because of the cost.
Overall a very nice park. Very nice clubhouse, good facilities, well set off the main drag, very nice pool, terrific workout room, nice store, and flat, clean site. I only have two criticisms. First, the Wi-Fi is $6 per day, and VERY slow. Better than nothing, but not much. Second, the attitude of the front desk staff was, well, a little insulting. They offer a Good Sam discount, but I didn't have my card. (I haven't had it in forever - I always give my number, and it's fine.) They wouldn't accept my number, and actually called Good Sam to verify that I was not lying about being a member, or giving them a fake account number. I guess I understand this, but it seems to me that trusting people not to cheat you out of 10% outweighs the insult of making people prove that they really are members. After a long day getting there, the extra headache at the front desk was not pleasant. We will probably stay here again, but we will likely look around at other options first.
VERY nice park, but VERY expensive. Lots to do, though, so, overall, it was a great place. Clean, quiet, VERY pretty lake, and the kids had a blast. Only complaints are the price and that the interior lots were a little cramped for a big rig (but we did get in just fine since I’m a great driver - grin). Would definitely stay here again, but it would help to win the lottery first!
First of all, this is CASH ONLY. I had enough, but it was a surprise. The park was a little cramped, but we were only on a one night stopover, so it was fine. Internet was FANTASTIC, and the park was clean and quiet. There were no activities at all, though. It’s right next to a long term mobile home park, but that was not a problem. Would stay here again, but only on a stopover.
Nice park, but a little off the beaten path, especially if you want to go to, say, Houston, which is 54 miles away. But, the park is clean and has LOTS of stuff for kids. Friendly staff, too. Overall, a very nice place. We have stayed before, and will stay again.
VERY disappointing park. We booked about three days in advance and they told us how great the activities were, etc., but when we got there, they told us that the activities did not begin until the Monday after we checked out. Yet, they charged us the FULL rate. Then, they bussed in SEVEN buses of inner city kids to use the pool while were there. Nothing against inner city kids, but I paid full rate and did not expect the general population to swim with me. The staff was less than helpful, and didn’t really care about our claim that we paid full rate for basically no activities. This, in my experience, is typical of Yogi Bear parks. Again, VERY disappointing. I will NOT stay here again.
Nice place, but a little over advertised. The waterpark next door (the very reason we came with the kids) was closed due to a “management dispute.” I don’t blame this on the campground, but when I asked him two days before arrival what activities they had for the kids, he said, “We have a waterpark right next door.” Wish he’d have told me it was closed. In any event, the park was clean, quiet, and flat, and the manager was VERY nice.
We “reserved” a “full hook-up” pull through site. When we got here, they didn’t keep the reservation. The site we got was okay, but not level. Cramped and small park, but pretty clean. Real nice guy in charge. Easy on/off. Would probably stay again.
Expensive, but pretty clean. Good stuff for the kids. Cramped roads and sites (not real “big rig friendly”). Reasonably centrally located. Wi-Fi very weak. Woman in office was heavily pierced: kind of creepy. Would probably stay again.
Good: Was easy on/off; level sites; big rig friendly. Bad: VERY noisy. Several campers were still “partying” at 2 a.m.; not a great part of town; no trees. Basically just a parking lot with hook-ups. Would probably not stay again, but might in a real pinch.
Nice entrance, but cramped sites. No sewer. Water hook-up leaked - site partially flooded. Entire campground was, well, less than pretty, although the lake was okay. Overall, a very low-average to average place. Compared to the Willow Park place we left before this, it was fine. But, it is not worth the money and we will not stay here again.
What a dump. We “reserved” a “full hook-up” pull through site. When we got there, we learned that they don’t have 50 amp, sewer, or pull through sites. Can’t figure how we reserved one, though. In any event, after navigating VERY cramped streets and low-lying trees, we got to our site. It was only then that we realized that we didn’t get what we reserved. Called the office, who basically said, “Oops, did she tell you that?” Long story short, we left. Will never stay here again - would prefer a Walmart parking lot.
Excellent campground. A little off the beaten path, but clean, reasonably roomy, LOTS of stuff for the kids, friendly owner, and mostly clean, new rigs. Security is very good. WiFi was very slow, though. A little on the pricey side, but we will probably stay here again if we are in the area. P.S. This is the only campground in nine years of RVing where the owner, when we were leaving, said, “Thanks for staying with us” - usually, it’s just a “thanks, have a safe trip.”
Not a bad place, but hardly “kid friendly.” We asked if they had a pool, and they said, “Yes.” When we got there, we asked where the pool was, and they directed us to a community pool across a five lane highway, and down the block. Nice pool, but not a place the kids could just go to without supervision. Also, no other kids there. In short, a nice park, but totally for adults only.
We are here right now and are VERY disappointed. We are way in the back right next to the zoo, and it smells like, well, a zoo. The fact that we are right next to the uncovered dumpsters doesn’t help. The site was dirty when we got there (bottles and ice cream cups on the table). It is a VERY crowded park, with tight roads, and grass sites (not even gravel). The front office was less than helpful, and less than prompt. The only saving grace is that it is right next to/at an amusement park, but this is also a negative - it’s loud. We definitely will not stay here again.
We’ve stayed here three times, and it’s pretty nice. We really stay here for the location, rather than the quality. It’s right off the highway, directly across the street from a terrific water park, and a mile or two from the Big Texan Steakhouse. Big sites, too. Overall, a good park.
Pretty nice place. Well located and nice looking. The spaces were a little tight, and the shop had very little supplies. But, there is an Ace Hardware right down the block, and several nice restaurants right near here. And, it’s close to all the sites in Taos. We would stay again.
