Back to nature place to spend a long weekend away from Chicago and suburbs. Bathrooms are okay. Reasonably clean. Water pressure is great in showers. Water on floor around toilets is an issue. Sites are wide & pretty level. No water at sites, but spigots located thru-out the campground. On the shore of Lake Michigan so beach is a plus. There have been issues with inconsiderate campers, but the park is patrolled by IDNR rangers. If you have an issue report it.
We stayed here one night. The sites are very nice, paved, and level with decent spacing. Shower house looked nice, but we didn't use it. Good if you don't need Wi-Fi. Leasburg is the closet town for groceries. We enjoyed touring Onadaga Cave and visiting the learning center/gift shop. Meramec River offers fun on the water. I would say this is nice place for low key family fun.
Very pretty park. Sites are paved and level with trees and grass all around. Our site had a extra pad to be used for a tent or maybe a screen room. The state park has many beautiful and challenging trails to hike. Mather Lodge serves great food if you don't want to cook. If you do, you will be a happier camper if you bring your groceries with you.
We have camped from Maine to Montana and this is one of our 5 favorites. Great location, close to Eureka Springs, but not too close. Owners/staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Sites are well spaced, level, and many have their own decks. Wonderful place to unwind after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Play areas for kids and pets as well as nice bathhouse and laundry facility. Well stocked camp store and more. We plan to return often.
