Getting to park from main road is a nightmare. The signs are all but nonexistent and the roads are steep and winding plus there is a one lane bridge. Nice, quiet park but bare bones except for the 50amp service. Nice lake swimming down the road.
Just a quick overnight, but the park was good for a night to relax as we were heading to Mo. and had tire problems. Lady that checked us in was very accommodating and friendly. Grand daughter enjoyed the pool. The seasonals were very welcoming. The internet was nonexistent. Nice size pull through site, but a little noisy as the main road was right behind us. Good access to Rt. 70.
Very nice park, but the site was not level as promised. We were here one night so we didn't ask to be moved. Beautiful lake and walking path. We would recommend this park. Be careful when leaving as the campground road puts you right on a highway.
Not far off of Rt. 70 just east of Indianapolis. Very steep hill to access the pull through site. Internet very spotty. Very difficult to exit as there were not signs indicating how to leave and we were not given a map when we arrived. OK for one night. Lots of seasonals with older trailers. I wouldn't say they were welcoming to weary overnighters.
Very friendly staff. Did their best to make us welcome. Sites were small but we were there for the Hershey show so it wasn't a problem. A lot of seasonals and they could use some cleaning up. They do make the campground unsightly. Nice pet area and small ice cream shop.
Site was pull through but so unlevel that we had to use 4 huge blocks on each stabilizer and we were still on a very uncomfortable angle. The owner did come over to help us level the site but we still had to raise the tires and block all of them. Mostly sites are taken by men working in the area. We would not recommend this campground. Would have given it a 1 but the owner was very helpful when we were trying to set up the rig. It has nothing to offer.
Owners are just terrific. Very accommodating and friendly. We had a pull-through site that was very large and level. We did have trouble with the Wi-Fi (never did get it working). Owners offered to help get us up and running, but we were so busy that we never had time to take them up on their offer. Fire ring on site and reasonably priced wood at the office. The grounds are immaculate and very attractive. We would definitely stay here again. Close to Dreams Park and short drive to Cooperstown. Don't miss the Farmer's Museum.
Greeted and escorted by wonderful work campers. They were so helpful and courteous. We were so impressed that we joined the KOA club. Great pull through site as promised and easy access to Rt.95. Can't say enough for the experience. Highly recommend.
Wonderful work campers greeted us at 6:30pm and escorted us to our pull through site. Water was frozen and he got it working for us. Generally very hospitable people. Immaculate campground, wonderful pull through site. Excellent access off of Rt.95. Would recommend and stay here again.
Stayed on the sound side and the views were just fabulous. Best part of our stay. Not crazy about all the other campers who walked past the back of my camper on my site to get to the dock. There is access from the road but many of them just felt it was OK to walk through our site. Park is very clean, and the sites, although small, were level and had cement pads. I think the price is over kill considering that the base price is higher than the norm, and then we were charged for cable and a pet. Wi-Fi is practically non existent on the sound side. I called the office to ask about it and was told to come up to the lounge if I wanted Wi-fi to work. Hmmmmm, so much for free Wi-Fi at my site. Found it hard to find a place to walk the dog as there is not a designated pet walk area. Probably won't stay here again. Too pricey for our pocketbook.
Park has very friendly people. We had a nice site, good size (not huge), 50 amp service, cement pad and gravel for the rig. Mostly seasonals but everyone was very helpful and welcoming. Has great proximity to Cape May. Lots of sites nearby. Has a huge dog run for pets. The pool is in process of renovations, should be wonderful in the hot weather. Would definitely return.
As repeat visitors for many years, we were greeted by a full parking and overflow lot when we arrived at 1:30pm on Sat. 7/25. We were told that we could not go to our site until 2pm as they needed the time to clean and mow. This is a newly enforced policy since we were here over the 4th of July holiday. So we waited until 2pm and were given permission to proceed to our site. Well, weren't we surprised to find the site dirty and un-mowed for what looked like several weeks. This fact was confirmed by our neighbors who were equally unhappy about the condition of their site and had not seen anyone with a lawn mower since their arrival over a week before. We understand that the check in time is 2pm (although never enforced in previous visits) but why was the site in such bad shape? We called on Monday and requested the site to be mowed. They came on Friday of that week at 5:30pm. We were leaving the next day so we spent the week with grass almost a foot tall in some spots. We had rain several days and because the sites sit below the road, we were flooded for much of the time. Admitted, the road is paved but now the water runs off into the sites. We spent a week here over the 4th holiday and the fences were in disrepair then and still in the same condition this trip. Bikes and golf carts run all over the campground without lights well after dark. This hazard makes us not want to take an evening stroll around the property. The back up at the guard shack every time we come in due to checking the new arrivals is a nuisance and needs to be reconfigured. We are so disappointed as this campground used to be one of our favorites. We came here 3/4 times a year.
Came in late on Thurs. night. The store was just closing but they took our reservation with no problem. We were supposed to come in on Friday morning but got there sooner and they were very accommodating. The staff was very friendly, patient and most helpful with our myriad of questions. The campground is kept in immaculate condition. The connections to Washington DC are right at the beginning of the campground and there is a parking lot for the vehicles while touring DC. This is very convenient for traveling to DC. We had a pull through site that we would have found to be very tight if we were not next to our traveling companions. In spite of that, the sites are very level and easy to access. We would certainly recommend this campground and would stay here again.
If I could give this a minus # it would still be too much. The office people were horrible to us. Treated us like intruders. There were four families and we were given the most awful sites, exposed excavation, open holes, wires sticking out just to mention a few of the obstacles. They locked up tight on Easter(YES,THATS RIGHT, CLOSED UP) with no one in charge or any activity available. We were warned not to use the lake(?). My daughter never got her Good Sam discount. Complained to Good Sam but nothing was done. The office personnel at the campground told her that if she didn't like it she could turn around and go home. So much for hospitality after traveling almost 4 hours with 3 small children. The place is old and I'm still not sure why they run this place if they hate people so much. Campers beware - stay somewhere else.
This is the worst parking lot we've stayed at. The sites are awful. Our slides were hanging into the next site and we could not open the passenger door to our truck without hitting the camper. Our fifth wheel barely fit in the site. The fishing pier is interesting-but why do campers have to pay to fish on it? That was one of the reasons we came here but never used it. Fishing was done on the beach! Narrow roads - definitely not big rig (35')friendly. We were here in March of '05 - can't imagine staying here in the summer. Will never come back to this can of sardines. Beware, there are much better places in Myrtle Beach.
