We stayed at this park for two nights and I will never come back. The sites are dirt, long and narrow fairly level. The staff is extremely rude, unhelpful and not at all knowledgeable about their campground. The electric was very old and the cable is a joke, very fuzzy and only some of the cable hookups work. Water pressure is very high and needs only to be turned on a half a turn...oh and it leaks very badly. Would have considered returning in the future if not for the staff.
Rate reflects Passport America discount. Sites are small and hard to get into, they were blacktop sites. Some of the staff was rude and condescending - others were disinterested. I must agree with other reviewers, it is very noisy. The interstate is on one side of the park and the train track on the other side. There is a 2 hour period from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. where the noise level is tolerable and you can sleep. When we sat outside in the evening playing cards we could not hear each other due to traffic noise. The swimming pool and hot tub looked nice, but we did not use them. The laundry was big, fairly clean but you have to use a card system to use it and any money left on the card is lost. There were lots of long term campers there. There were several Rvs and trailers parked outside the park along the road which made us feel insecure due to the gates that opened from the park to the roadside. Park was close to beaches and other activities. Probably would not return.
This is by far one of the very best RV parks we have ever stayed in. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The sites are level and large. We were given the choice of where we wanted to park. There were lots of empty spaces to choose from. There was some permanent RVer's but they all were very friendly and helpful. We have no problems. The pool is awesome, clean and well cared for. The laundry is a nice size and very reasonable $1.25 to wash or dry. There was a freak wind storm while we were here and it tore out awning, so we had to leave early for repairs and while we could not get a refund for the 3 days we had paid for we were told if we came back we could stay free for those 3 days. We think that is a great deal! We will be back and hopefully get to stay longer. Loved this place.
After reading the reviews we did not come expecting much. However, we made a mistake and arrived a day early and they were very accommodating. Do not expect anything more than a site number when you check in. The sites are very narrow and short. Hookups are very confusing as the water and sewer are on one side, and the electric is on the other. We had to go buy more sewer hose to reach the sewer connection. The staff was very rude after the initial encounter, and this place is NOT worth the hassle.
This is a nice park for a longer visit. We stayed a month. They have free golfing for their campers. The sites are large and level. There is no WiFi in your unit but is available in the clubhouse. We were able to get several TV stations on our antenna. The park is quiet and friendly. The only problem we had was with the water hookup wanting to leak; they are very strict about this. We had to use Teflon tape and a new hose as their faucet only had 2 threads to hook onto, but once you are hooked up and not leaking there was no problem. We have stayed twice and will stay again. They also have a large nice laundry.
This park is shady, and that is about the only good thing about it. We were here 4 nights when we were awakened at 5 a.m. when the electricity went out. We went out and reset the breaker and sparks and a loud pop came from the electric post. The plug for our trailer had been fried and melted by what must have been a power surge. We had to replace it before we could use it again. We were told we had full hooks, but we did not. While we were here, our neighbors on each side of us ran their grey water out on the ground almost daily. On our last night we ran part of one tank of grey water out ,and the 'ranger' immediately came and griped us out. There is suppose to be a beach, but it was non existent. The boat ramp was dirt and rocks. The pictures on the website are very old as there is little water surrounding this area. The middle of the river had an old car tire leaning against a rusted 50 gallon drum which made us wonder whether we should fish or swim there. There is a 5 mph speed limit, and if you are caught going faster you must park at the front, and walk to your site the rest of your stay...they enforce it.
This is a small park with the very best to offer. The owners are very friendly, helpful and usually very visible. We had great cable TV and WiFi. Sites were on the smallish side but plenty of room for slides and awnings. They have a pool and hot tub. Close to sites and activities, and the bus stops right outside the security gates. This is our second visit and we will be back! Loved everything about it.
We have camped here twice before and thought it to be a good park, however we did not encounter any problems previously. The first night we camped here, a tree fell on our trailer. We have to agree with other comments, staff was rude. We were told we could not stay until our insurance paid to fix our trailer. The WiFi is fair but disconnected at 7 pm every day. Cable TV was out when we arrived. Will check out other parks before coming here again.
Called and made reservations and was not told the pool was closed...very disappointing as we were traveling with kids. The Wi-Fi was poor, did not work most of the time. Site was level, dirt, and the water pressure was good. Thinking I would check somewhere else next time I am in Carlsbad.
