A real melting pot of a campground. Everything from tent campers to 40' fivers. From shirtless, tattooed guys to well dressed couples walking their dogs. If you do not mesh well with all types, this may not be your place. Lots and lots of beer drinking. If you want to let it all hang out and have a great time tubing this is your place. If you want a nice serene, quiet weekend with the kids as we do, try Percy Quinn State Park right down the road. Some turns in the C.G. are a little tight. We caught a rainy weekend. The gravel roads held up nice and standing water did not seem to be a problem. We did have a good time but we seem to get along with all types.
Excellent campground!! Huge sites on the water view area. Easter activities for the kids. Friendly, informative Rangers. The only reasons for not giving a 10 rating was the lack of sewer hook-ups, and one mini van that was staying at a yurt and constantly speeding throughout the camping area. Not too fast, but fast enough to scare us with kids riding bikes. Even the less than desireable Easter weather did not keep us from having a great time at this campground. We rated this campground last year, stayed for a night and said that we would be back. We came back and are glad we did. We will be back again.
Very friendly staff. Had tow vehicle problems and the staff went out of their way to help. Planned on a one night stay. Once problems occurred, the staff automatically held a site for me as long as I needed. They then found a repair facility and gave good directions. We were back on the road, fiver in tow, within a couple of hours. Did not see much of the park but what I saw was neat and clean. Staff talked with my wife and played with my children while I was out for repairs. They even let my children "help build" some new attractions to the playground. Will stay again for stop-over on longer trips.
Very nice campground. Whole area very well maintained. Arrived after 7:00 pm and had park employees stay late and lead us to our site, help light the site, help us back into our site, and help me level the camper. Was very impressed by the service and it was well received after a long day of driving. The only reason the park did not receive a 10 was the number of permanent/long term campers. It was not a detraction as all of them were very neat and well kept and very friendly, it is just that they seemed to have most of the "best" sites occupied. Will definitely be back.
Typical campground for areas with high priced real estate. Sites very close together. What made the camping experience even worse is that we got sandwiched between two permanent residents with shoddy appearances. Thank goodness that neither tenants were there. With my slide extended, they would have trouble opening their exterior doors much less have no room to open their awning. On the curb side, my awning covered their sewer drain. On a positive note, close to attractions in Branson, friendly staff, kid and pet friendly, and nice view of Lake Tanneycomo. If you can, try and get reservations for the back in sites right on the water.
This is a beautiful park on a beautiful lake. We stayed here one night as a stop over on a longer trip. We wish we would have stayed here longer. Three separate camping areas available. One is waterfront, one water view, and one in the woods. All sites very shady. Waterfront sites were a little close together while the water view sites were further apart and more level. We will come back here very soon and plan on staying a lot longer.
A model park. Great campers, great staff, great service. Three small kids had a wonderful time on the playground. Very kid friendly and the staff was very helpful with local activities. Sparkling clean everything. Will be our only place to stay when visiting San Antonio again. The only minor complaint, if you want to call it that, was that as soon as quiet time was over at 7:30 am, the ground crews started cleaning up (running a gas blower). I would rather just a little bit more "sleep time" while on vacation.
