Very nice and peaceful park. Sites surround man made lakes. We had a pull through with a concrete pad. Large angled spots so we had a good view of the lake outside the windows. They use Boingo internet and it is an additional $5.00. We used our card instead but the signal was not strong enough. It is a little far off I-10 for just an overnight stay but once we got there we really enjoyed the scenery and did a little fishing.
Great clean well kept park with paver sites and asphalt roads. Grass all around perimeter for dog run which made the dog happy. Escorted to our site. Close proximity to Anna Maria Island so we were able to ride our bikes over to it easily. Pretty pricey but for a day or two, to us, the location was worth it.
We stayed here while seeing doctors at Mayo Clinic. A bit of a drive but no traffic and easy access to the freeway. The sites are concrete with large grassy area. The restrooms and laundry were clean. Washer was $1.50 and dryer was $1.50. We didn't use the pool but plenty of people were in it all day. The airplanes starting at 6 am so don't plan to sleep in. One horrible cat that would not leave us alone: to the point we could not eat outside or keep our dog outside with us. We would stay here again if in the area since there is not much to choose from.
Nice place and nice lady running it. Park feeling with lots of trees and grass. Cute pond in the back. We enjoyed sitting on the concrete pad beside our site watching fire flies and listening to the frogs at night. We were able to fill out propane tank in the morning. Freeway is close but our site was in the back and not much of a problem with noise. Definitely will stay again. We have a 36 ft and pull a truck and were able to get in and out easily.
Beautiful park. Each site has long concrete pull throughs, manicured grass area, table and lots of room. Actually everything is maintained to perfection and has a resort feel. Located off the freeway so nice and quiet. Friendly staff. The only negative is it located right next to a huge chemical plant or refinery of some type which was a little unnerving.
Restroom, laundry, lounge area were all new and spotless. Nice large grassy area with chairs and a fire pit. Close to the highway but we were in the back and had no problem with road noise. No problem with wind either. Large sites with a tree and table. Only problem was the dust, they could use some asphalt. We will stay here again.
Perfect park for an overnight stop. 1 mile from the freeway so nice and quiet. We had a large gravel pull through site. Back in sites have gravel and small concrete pads. This is a well maintained mobile home park with the RV section in the back. Pool area was very nice. Webpage says 55+ but we are younger and were not questioned. We would definitely stay here again.
We were told they were not accepting PA because they only had 2 sites left for the night. Interesting, we didn't read that in their PA requirements. We went ahead and stayed here because of the good reviews. However, when we got here, there there were a lot of sites still available. There are a lot of construction people staying here, doing work in the area and we were put next to one that was apparently the "party" trailer. We knew we had trouble when people started coming over with 12 packs. Finally at 1:00 am we called the emergency number and got no answer. The campground is fine at best. Mostly mowed weeds and pretty dusty. This was a bad experience for us and we will not return.
They really run a tight ship here. The park is beautiful with flowers, grass mowed daily, trees but the whole time we felt like we were being watched just waiting to be jumped on some infraction and sure enough we were. The people that run the place are rude and it seems to rub off on the rest of the RV'rs. A pretty unfriendly place. We stayed on the river, minded our own business and decided to stay longer but needed to move to another site. By the time time Friday night rolled around they had people so packed into spots that you wouldn't think could actually fit a car. We would probably only stay on the river if we stay here again.
Price reflects PA and in our opinion a pretty good deal considering the proximity to Estes Park and the other options in the area. The grass/weeds were mowed when we were here. Dog run was huge and bags for clean up were provided. The roads are dirt so it got pretty dusty, but that is pretty typical for the Rocky Mountain area. The restrooms were clean and private: each with a shower, toilet and sink. We used the laundry and it was clean. We would stay here again if we got the PA discount.
We used this campground as an overnight stop even though it was a few miles off the 70, because we like quiet and were not disappointed. We were towards the back and our site had a nice grass lawn with gravel and we leveled easily. The dog run was pretty good size with dirt and gravel. We had to pay an extra $5.00 for a third person which made it a little expensive for an overnight, but all in all it was a nice park.
We thought this was a really nice park for an overnight. The owners were very friendly. We stayed on an exterior row with a view of a big grassy area and the fields in the distance. The site didn't have sewer but we chose to be on the outside row instead of the interior with sewer because the sites were so nice and spacious. The restrooms and showers were very clean. The highway was closed due to construction so it was very peaceful and quiet, not sure how quiet it would be when the road is opened. We would stay here again.
After reading the reviews we expected a very nice state campground and were a bit disappointed. We had to move to 3 different sites trying level and never really were able to get leveled. The showers were filthy and we were told the water only ran hot so we didn't use them. The campground has a lot of trees which provided shade but they were so thick there was not the slightest breeze which made it muggy. We used this as an overnight stay but would find someplace else next time.
Truly a Resort. We did not have a view or water front site but we still had an awesome open view of the marina and the boats and the hills surrounding us. Each site has a paved pad for the RV and a large grassy area with a table and BBQ/fire pit. Lots of areas to explore on bicycle. ATV's have to be trailered in and out of the park so more of an older quiet crowd. We extended our stay here because it felt like we were being pampered. Staff get an A+ for friendliness and helpfulness.
The staff was very nice and helpful and they even let us wash our RV in our site. The sites were quiet, gravel, shrubbery between sites and paved roads. Bicycles were not allowed to be ridden within the park. This is a great park for ORV riders because of easy access to the dunes but for regular RV's there are not any view sites and it is kind of cramped. Great for an overnight when passing through or to use as a base camp while touring the area.
Nice campground walking and biking distance to the darling town of Sisters. Most of the RV sites were 30 amp but it was not a problem because the temperature really dropped at night. The sites have a gravel pad for the RV but the rest of the site was the fine dirt that gets on everything. Nice green belt area adjacent to the park on one side and a creek on the other side. We would stay here again.
Not big rig friendly. We scratched the RV going in and going out. We tried and tried to get into the site assigned to us but finally left and went someplace else. We were excited about this campground but were disappointed with the dead trees and overgrown weeds and not a blade a of grass anywhere.
Mosquitoes-mosquitoes-mosquitoes! We have never seen them so thick, so be prepared before you even open a window a crack. Campsites were spacious but the extra fine dirt was on everything within minutes. The positive...the location inside Crater Lake and Annie's Restaurant had a good buffet. This is too much like "roughing" it for us even in the RV. Next time we would stay down the hill and drive up.
There really were not any pull through sites here. We tried several of the larger sites, and in the end, had to disconnect and park the truck in the site behind us. Our MH is 35" pulling a Tundra. Other than that, the park was asphalt, has plenty of trees, is clean, well maintained and check in was extremely friendly. Because of the pull through problem, we would find someplace else to stay.
When we checked in, we were put in the first spot by the office and road. Since the place was pretty much empty, we asked to be moved to the other side by the trees and away from the front. She let us know she was not happy about the change but accommodated us anyway. When we pulled in, we thought it looked too uniform and plain, but after we settled in, we liked the astro turf and the dog run was a dog's paradise. The laundry room was big and immaculate. We paid $1.75 per load. The pool was not heated and too cold, so we didn't use it.
We paid extra to get a river front site and absolutely loved it. It was 103 degrees when we pulled in, so the water was quite refreshing. Grass and shade trees up to the waters edge so a nice place to park a lawn chair. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and easy access into town.
This is a great friendly park for an overnight stay. There is grass between the sites and plenty of shade trees. We had no problem with TV or internet reception. Easy access from highway, yet was very quiet. Looked like the permanent sites were along the parameter and the center sites were pull through for overnighters. All the permanent sites were well kept and tidy. Rate reflects Passport America. We would stay here again when passing through.
This park is a little rustic for us and it didn't seem like there was much maintenance going on. The roads and camps sites were dirt with trees and bushes for privacy. There were a lot of full time people. The beach access across the street was littered with beer cans and trash. We stayed three nights because it served its purpose, but we would find someplace else next time.
We stayed in the newer section with full hook ups. We moved around some because we didn't have reservations, so one site was gravel and one was concrete and they were large and private. The first night our site fronted the lake and was beautiful. There are bike rentals at the office. This is one of our favorite state parks and will go back again.
This park is actually only 3 miles off the interstate and easy to get to. It was so nice to have a stopover without road noise. Our site was a long pull through with gravel. Had lots of trees and grass. There is a pay phone at the office but our phone and internet card worked fine. Was a peaceful setting. We would stay again.
We stayed here just as an overnight and were really happy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There are some permanent residents but they were friendly and everything was well maintained. The views were amazing! We did not hear the train. We would stay here again.
This park is darling. There is grass everywhere. The whole park is maintained beautifully, clean bathrooms and laundry which is on the honor system. Breakfast for $1.00 was great. Small store. There is some road noise but not too bad. Perfect for an overnight.
