We love this place and it seems to get better every year. We had a nice pull through and plenty of space. Buildings are a little older, but very well maintained. Lots of seasonal sites but all very nice and no issues. We were scheduled to arrive at night, but broke down on our way and didn't make it until the next morning. The woman in the office was great and didn't even charge us for the night we missed, even though we arrived at 10 AM. Nice pet park and really cool island walk area. Close to North Port and beach. A bit far off interstate, so might not be perfect for overnight stay. Kids enjoyed the pool.
We were on our way back to WI from FL and needed a place to stay for the night. Site was large and level (pull through). Perfect for what we needed. Several other sites were not quite as level, but looked OK to us. All connections worked as expected, no issues. Easy in and out, but the sign is REALLY small so make sure you turn right at the Subway, it's down that road. We would stay here again. A bit noisy from road, but it didn't bother us and that's what you get when you want an easy on/off.
This is a high end Class A park with lots of big money rigs and cars with them. That is fine if you live there, but to visit we had no table and no cable TV. You can walk to the clubhouse, but there really isn't a bathhouse. The other thing that was strange was that very few people spoke English. In fact there is a group there to try and find more English speaking people to get to know. Lots of Canadians, but all were very nice. We asked about possibly extending our stay and then realized we couldn't the next day, but they wouldn't refund out money, but did give us credit, which we will never use. Pools are large and nice. Many sites have really nice cabanas on them, but I don't think those are in the rental pool.
We stayed for two nights and loved this place. Big site for our 40' rig and plenty of space to spread out. Can't believe the price includes the safari next door. We really enjoyed that and waking up to roaring lions was really cool. Pool was large and dog park was good too. Certainly will come again. Everyone was very nice and pleasant.
Last year we stayed down the road at another park, but we had kids with us this year and decided this was a better choice and it was. Pool is nice and everything was clean and people were very nice. Beach isn't too great (rocky), but fishing pier was really good and easy to access, as was the very nice bait shop. Restrooms were well kept, but I am 5'9" and barely had enough room in the stall. Biggest issue is the size of the sites. We could not open our awning as it would have hit a pole. Another guy's rig didn't even fit and hit a tree limb when they tried to back him in. We did not find the campground to be too loud as others have stated. Even with music in the bar, it was not bad at all, but we were also not that close to the bar/pool either.
This is a decent campground, but they charge for everything, except the pool use. My kids went to take a shower and came back asking for change as the showers cost money. Since it is close to the river, the DNR would not allow the owners to have any sewer to the campground, so there are no full hook-ups. Even the seasonals have to use the honey wagon. They gave us a note on check-in telling us the water was not drinkable; at least they told us, I guess. There is a small free play area, but they charge to use the larger one. Pool is OK and fits the need for the kids. Our site was a double length pull-through and was plenty wide for us too. Sites were all very level and the campground was pretty clean and reasonably well maintained. Most of the seaosonals were in reasonably good shape too. We may stay again. It is a bit tricky to get to the campground from the highway, but roads are amply wide enough for the largest of rigs.
We stayed here during Memorial Day weekend. Campground was clean and reasonably well laid out. Sites were decent in size. We stayed in a 40 ft Class A and had plenty of room. Store was really nice and the playgrounds were excellent. Also had some excellent children's activities. Most of the campground is for seasonal rentals, but they were all very well maintained. Only complaint was the pool was way too small for this size of campground. It was so crowded we would not let our children swim in it as we were scared they would get hurt. One day, when it was 90 F, they even closed the pool and drained out half the water. Maybe it was contaminated from all the people the day before. We probably will not stay here again.
A very nice and clean campground. Flat and very good for big rigs. Two reasons why we would not give it a higher rating. First, there was no pool. It is hot in July and we have children. Second, there is not even a playground. I understand that not every campground is built for children (hence no pool), but I do think there should be a play area, regardless. Owners are great and wonderful people. We would stay here again, if we leave the kids home.
Campground is a decent place to stop for a night. It is clean, but very old. You can tell the owners have tried to keep up with maintenance, but when things are old, they are old. Lot's of work campers and they were all very nice. Pool is small, but good. I could not put my awning out as we probably would have hit our neighbor's slide. The campground is gated at all times, but the area is a nice area and we never felt the gate was needed.
We were stunned at the quality of this campground ,and after 15 minutes we left and demanded a refund, which they gave us. This campground was not big rig friendly, at the site they gave us the picnic table was missing the center board (actually it was there sticking up between the other two), the site was a field of long grass that was indented into the ground. If I tried to open my slides, the bottom would have hit the ground (wall of indent). There were many old and run down buildings and trailers. The place was poorly maintained and we will never stay again. It is also very difficult to get to and is well off the main highway. We have stayed at Encore owned campgrounds before and found this not to be typical of an Encore facility.
Very well maintained park. Owners are on-site and seem to be very on top of everything and customer service is first rate. Many trees, but no problem for out 40' with large slides. Great pool area for kids with splash pad too. Excellent location to the downtown dells area. Moreover, park was easy to get to. Plan to stay again in the near future.
Pool, store and facilities are excellent and well maintained. Grounds were not well kept as grass was nearly 12" at my site and in poor health. Several holes in the ground at my site too. Sites are decent size in both length and width for big rigs. Staff was friendly, but several young workers that were not very knowledgeable about the facilities. A little bit of care for the sites themselves and this campground would be rated higher. Would stay again.
