We recently spent a week in this lovely campground. The staff are very kind and friendly, it is pet friendly, and the park upkeep is immaculate. We enjoyed the short drive to Deadwood for gaming, peace & quiet of the campground, and friendliness of everyone. We did not fish, and did not have children with us to utilize some of the accommodations for the younger set. The pool was closed the one day I went to use it, but otherwise, it is a great vacation destination. I would highly recommend it to anyone with or without children. We would stay again when we return to Deadwood for vacation.
This was our third time to stay here, and it is always clean, well managed, and friendly. The laundry is the cheapest ever, with efficient and new equipment, and we have stayed twice in the "overflow" area, which is actually quieter and more private than the main campground. The Blue Angels are a treat that can be seen even if you choose not to get up and drive over for the full runway show. And love the free museum! This is a great bargain for military families, and we will continue to stay when available and in Pensacola. Great facilities and great people!
We arrived here at 4:30PM, having called for reservations for the week while on the road. We were greeted with a list on the wall of available spaces to choose from, not a documented site or packet, as usually done. We chose a pull-through from the list, and got settled in. The next morning, as usual, we went to the office to pay, and were greeted by a very grumpy lady who said we had not gone to the "right" space, which, after we checked the site she had assigned us, we could NOT have gotten our rig into it. After I told her that we would be happy to leave and relocate elsewhere, she frowningly, and reluctantly allowed us to stay where we were, but assured me that, "Now she would have to change some things around to make it work." I felt very unwelcome! The park is tired and ragged, the laundry closes at 5PM and if you need to do laundry later, you use an open shed in the middle of the park, with old, rusty, barely working equipment, and the bugs eat you alive! Trash was piled everywhere, and seldom picked up from our site, as directed. The park is weedy, and our site was not mown, even after asking a young man weed-eating other sites to weed-eat ours anytime. I am happy to say that we were gone most of the days from here, as it was not a clean, typical KOA at all. We would choose another park in the event we stay in St. Augustine again. This park is a blackeye to all KOA's, as we have relied on these campgrounds for over 40 years, and never have been treated so shabbily as this. Too bad! Won't be back!
We arrived without reservations on a holiday and were greeted with friendliness and professionalism. This is a great idea! Put a nice quiet RV park in walking distance of a Casino and they will come. Quiet and peaceful, shady, safe, and with a shuttle if you cannot walk the mere steps to the Casino. What a delight. Clean, trash picked up often, dog friendly, and with nice, level concrete sites. You can use the hotel pool if you want to swim. It is not a parking lot, like you would imagine. It is tree-lined with Spanish draped moss home away from home. We would make a trip to stay here again.
We stopped here after being on the road for long hours, and it was easy. We arrived unannounced and paid for one night, only to realize we needed two nights. We were welcomed by an elderly couple who apparently are the owner/operators, and they made us feel like family! They assured us that we could stay however long he needed. This is a no-frills park, but friendly people and loving care. There is a Wendy's within walking distance and a gas station in front. A quiet and welcome oasis at the end of the day. I would recommend this little Mom & Pop park to anyone.
We arrived, off the road and on a Sunday evening, without reservations, and were greeted by a note on the door and a phone #. I called, and the lady told us to park in the parking lot and hook up at the pole. She sent a gentleman down to collect our information, and we simply set up right there in the parking lot. Now, this was a bit different for us, as they said they do NOT park anyone after 6PM or weekends. We were happy with this as all we wanted was water & electric for A/C, and a good night's sleep. It was worth it, as it was quiet, undisturbed, and pet friendly. We were on our way bright and early the next morning refreshed and ready for another day's drive. A bit different, but just what we wanted for that night! I would certainly do this again, should we be there. Friendly, and accommodating.
This is one of the most beautiful KOA's we have enjoyed. Upon arrival, after making on-the-road reservations, we were welcomed, placed in an area near the pet walk, and everyone was very friendly. The laundry room was very clean, operational, and convenient, the pool was pristine, and the overall grounds well maintained and clean. Oh, and yes, you can hear the lions in the AM & PM, which made one of our dogs very nervous, but nonetheless, you feel safe. The free admission into the Safari Park was a delightful surprise, and it is beautiful and well maintained, as well. I would definitely stay here again should we be in the area. This is a diamond of a KOA, upholding its reputation to a T.
This is one of the friendliest and kindest, family oriented KOA's we have every stayed at. We arrived here originally to stay 4 nights, and see Key West. On the second night, my husband landed in a Miami hospital for emergency surgery, and I was stranded there until he was discharged 5 days later. This staff asked daily about him, offered their help for anything I might need, I felt safe and cared for the whole time. They had a special weekly rate set that I was able to pay to make the extended stay affordable, so the price listed is an average. The laundry facilities were clean, operational, and they were very dog friendly to my 4 doggies that travel with us everywhere. They gave us a great site when we arrived, as we are from the mountains, and to see the ocean is a special treat! They offered to help my husband hookup and get going when he had recovered enough to travel at the end of that week, and I cannot say enough good things about everyone there! The office staff is so very friendly and helpful, facilities are well maintained, pool is clean, and trash is removed several times a day. Seeing the staff constantly moving around the park taking care of things was a major assurance to me, as I was alone there for 5 days. I would recommend this park to anyone visiting Key West, and if we ever get there again, would not hesitate to stay there again. Oh, and I got to meet the giant Iguana, Godzilla, while there, and he is amazing!
We arrived here very late at night, with reservations made from the road, and were greeted at the office by the manager. He was friendly, helpful, and had us in our site right away, and we were made to feel very welcome. The pool was very clean, the staff was so very welcoming to our 4 doggies who travel with us everywhere, and the shuttle was great! Everyone made us so glad that we had chosen the KOA they manage, as they were helpful in answering all our questions, and when we extended our stay by two days, they were awesome! The staff is suburb and the office is friendly. It is in an area of town that feels safe and it is clean. We enjoyed our stay and if we are in NOLA again, we will certainly stay here!
This is the fourth year we have stayed here in this park for several days, and the staff is friendly, facilities very clean, sites well maintained, and availability is great. It must be a well kept secret. We will continue to come to this Famcamp in the future. We love the quiet and comfort, with the sound of tree frogs and cicadas in the trees. It is a little piece of country in a very busy world. It has free WI-FI, a great laundry room, and it just feels good when you arrive here after a long day of driving! Keep it up BAFB Famcamp!
