We went as a free weekend. There was a low pressure 90 minute tour and presentation for joining the private campground. The CG is part of Coast to Coast campgrounds. There is a lake with an adjoining playground. There is a larger playground near the hot tub and pool. It is an outdoor pool and hot tub that is opened all year. The future plans include paving CG, installing sewer at all sites and concrete pads. Some of the sites have been upgraded but sewer is not connected yet. Very nice CG and staff. Golf carts are very handy and can be rented. Canoes, paddle boats, shuffle boards, horse shoes, putt putt and volley ball are free amenities. Nice cabins are also available for rental. Only one bath house but private rooms with toilet, sink and shower. We will be returning soon.
Park is out in the country. Dirt roads are a little over uses, narrow and one lane. Several of the sites flood with rain. We have stayed several times in tents with groups of scouts and have been flooded several times. Bathhouses are clean but have a bad odor. Arcade is older and no AC. Small camp store. There are two pools and one has water slide. Lake is very low and you can touch bottom of canoe to bottom of lake in several areas. Sandy ground and many trees in CG. There are many RVs on the other side of lake but some were in the area where we also stay.
The camp site map is outdated and some sites are outdated, a few sites are now cabins but prime tent sites now have water and electric. We stayed on one of the regular tent sites with electric and water. Campsite had a gravel area for tent, picnic table and combo grill/firepit. The newer prime tent sites are very nice. They have a grass area for tents, water and electric hookups, grill, firepit, raised picnic table with umbrella and waterfront view. The catch and release pond is small and over fished but river is very nice for fishing. The CG offers a small pool and playground. This is a small CG but nice kept. The RV sites are mostly pull through with all hook ups. Large RV sites have a brick patio. We are planning to return but on the prime tents sites.
It is a nice quiet campground. Set in the mountains but the site are nice and level. We stayed in a cabin. The front room had a queen and other room had 2 sets of bunk beds. There were built in shelves and a bench in each room. Front porch had a nice porch swing. CG is on shallow part of river but fishing license is required. There are 2 lakes. The larger is available for paddle boats and canoes. There is great fishing in the larger lake. The smaller lake is widely covered with lilly pads. There is a small playground, pool and store. The staff is friendly. We would love to return.
