OK spot to camp. Weather was awful and so were the bugs, so my experience was altered. The site itself was nice and relatively level. There was a nice swing set for the kids in the center of the campground. The swimming area was OK in Clear Lake, but nothing to write home about.

We had a nice experience here. Owners were very friendly. Electric was just upgraded. WiFi worked well. Smaller sites, but was just fine in our 33" TT without having to unhook. There were quite a few permanent residents, most seemed to work in the Elko gold mine. Not your resort-style place, but I was only overnighting here. I would do it again without hesitation.

Nicely maintained park. I had no problem with the width of the sites. There was only one other camper the night we stayed, and had the place to ourselves really. Nicely mowed area with lots of room for the kids to run. It was weird not to see an employee ever, you just drop the money in the slot in the door. It is a nice place for an overnighter (that's what we did), and they have a free dump station for campers. I will stay here again.

All side-of-the-road sites that are pull-through. Bathrooms were clean. It was easy to bike to the village to shop and see the visitor center. The ranger program was awesome that we saw, one of the best ever. Site was level and easy to get into and out of.

Nice sites, all pull-through. I had trees preventing me from doing a "pull-through", but was able to back my coach in and park behind. It was a little far from the north reaches of the park, but the West Thumb Geyser Basin was right there. Showers were really nice, but you had to drive there as they were offsite.

Nice place with a great view. If you don't need full hook-ups (and most of us don't), this beats the KOA at a full rate. Nice large spots and most were pull-throughs and were level. You can sit right by the river drinking your morning coffee, then take a hike to the visitors center. A few days here is about the most I would stay, but found our overnight very pleasant.

I really enjoyed this park. The spaces were nice and large, there is a VERY large mowed meadow area to roam around in, a nice pool and spa. Our site was shaded and level, once I got to it. There was a large hill right in front of our pad, but nothing that I found to be trouble when backing in. The men's bathroom was often dirty and the showers always seemed to have stuff left in them from previous users. My wife said the women's were the cleanest she had ever seen, so I call that a draw. The WiFi was really bad as well. But everything else was top notch in my opinion, and it was close to everything in the Black Hills region. I would definitely stay here again.

I know others ranked this place higher, but I didn't like it for two main reasons. 1) The road noise was very noticeable outside, and I could hear it inside even with the A/C on. 2) the side-of-the-road pull-offs were not my favorite. Basically, you park on the shoulder of the road and if you have street-side slides, your slide is in the street. Turn around and your door opens onto the roadway. Other than that my site had trash and I didn't see the windmills the park claims to have when I walked around the place. OK for a quick overnight, but likely wouldn't stay here again.

Nice park along I-90, about four miles off the freeway. Beautiful grounds with mowed lawns and spacious sites. Easy to get into with out 22' RV. Bathrooms and showers were some of the best I've seen with state/national parks. Sites were gravel/sand and not very level, but I've been to worse. Would stay here again for a few nights.

Very nice campground along the banks of the Missouri River. Had a site that backed up right to the river with beautiful sunset views. Sites were level and paved and hosts were very friendly. Park was clean with no trash and looked decent, not your Ritz Carlton, but pleasant. Stayed for an overnighter, but would come back for 2-3 days easy for us. Rate reflects Good Sam/AAA discount.

Nice park that was very peaceful. Sites are far from level front to back, but was fine for us in our 33' TT. We were at the Lakeview CG closer to the lake at had great swimming and fishing. This park is very well maintained. We will probably come back for a longer stay. It does take a little skill to drive around in a rig our size, but was quite doable.

Only reason it didn't get a 10 is I like more room, but that you won't find in nearly any KOA. Staff was great, site was level, water was clean. The kids really enjoyed the pool and mini golf for free, plus the nightly movie was a hit with them (free also). The laundry had plenty of machines and our 1 1/2 weeks of clothes for a family of four was done in under two hours start to folded. Would stay here again.

Forest Service CG that is a great little gem. No hookups, but well worth boon docking for. Easy access from Hwy 50, and the sound of the creek was very relaxing. The creek runs though the CG with mostly well shaded sites. A few sites overlook the valley and have morning sun. Kids had a blast and this was an over nighter for us, but we will return for a longer stay. Toilets were vault, but OK and useable.

Only negative that I'll get out of the way was that you get hit with a $9/day entrance fee on top of the site fee. Other than that it is a state park with full hookups, flat concrete sites, wide roads great for bike riding for the kids, many sites with trees, plenty of room between sites, and all located withing the Denver metro area. I couldn't even see an office building from the CG and the road noise was faint, far quieter than many CGs near freeways. I wish there were many more parks like this in major cities.

Nice lake, nice town, sites were level. The lack of trees was something I found disheartening, but know that's mother nature. I just didn't get a good feel for me. That's not to say it was unsafe, dirty, or ugly, just wasn't my cup of tea. Nice place to overnight though and electric and water for only $24 is not a bad deal.

Beautiful park. The only thing I would recommend is to bring lots of water, it gets really hot. The night views are the best I have seen. Campsites are fairly level, but easy to back into. Nice thing about this CG is that there are two wonderful trails right from the campgrounds. Might stay in Moab next time for the electricity if I camp during July again, but would come back for the cooler months without hesitation.

We drove by the fairgrounds CG and turned back to this place. The fairgrounds were creepy to the family and me. This was for an over nighter and was very pleasant. We would stay here again for an night stop as it was clean for us and I had no problems during stay.

Had a wonderful time here with my family and friends. The campsites were a little strangely set up, but nothing that bothered me. Most had a little room between sites, which was nice. Definitely not a "parking lot" feel to it. The river was ideal for swimming and one of the best I have been in for a long time. The only knock I would say is it would have been nice to see a little mowing between sites, but that gave it more of a county park CG. We (and all other fellow campers) had one significant problem with another camper. This was taken care of VERY professionally by the CG hosts and very quickly. All regular campers here said this event was VERY unusual and had never seen it happen. But the true test of a campground host/CG business practices is how they handle adversity, which this CG did way beyond any of our expectations. Definitely will stay again.

I gave an 9 due to our campsite was on the outside of the loop at the apex. Inside the loop sites looked cramped and would have resulted in a 7. The site we had was perfect and had a small creek at the back. Campsite was level. Some sites at this CG can handle a trailer a little longer than advised on the park site, some I would have trouble getting into with the recommended trailer length. Look at the pictures when you reserve and you should be able to tell for yourself and your skill level. As far as location, this is the best of the three valley campgrounds IMHO. The trees were less dense in the others and I liked the far location of this CG, allowing me to take my cup of coffee and hike the Mist Trail each morning out the back of my site.

Big paved lot, nothing intimate about the campsites themselves. It was very clean and had some of the nicest bathrooms and showers I have seen. Enjoyed the large open area for the kids to play in as well as the playground. Nice fruit stand to buy fresh fruit.

Level, paved sites. Easy maneuvering and a great location. The grass wasn't mowed, which was my only complaint. Easy access to the beach and each campsite had a fire pit with cooking grate that I saw. Very few trees, but that wasn't a distraction for me.
