Nice and scenic primitive area. Clean water to fish, swim or boat in. We had no hassles from anyone here and it's a wide and open area. I have camped here 3 times. The next best thing to Camp Doris, in the Wichita refuge, without all of the National park rules.
This has to be the best that Oklahoma has to offer and I found it to be much better then campgrounds in Arkansas, South Carolina and any state parks in New Mexico. The wildlife is unbelievable. It is the only place I have ever been where I could see buffalo, rabbits, squirrels and a hawk all at the same time from camp while sitting in a lawn chair. I have camped here many times with no real issues. If you want to have a party with your friends, sit around and drink with loud music, then do not come here. Alcohol is prohibited and you will be fined.
Not a bad park. We camped here for 3 nights. There is a lot of highway noise and it was very dusty. The restrooms do close for a couple of hours each day for cleaning and that was a little annoying if you have to go during those hours. Staff was friendly. I would stay there again, if I had to.
