A wonderful VERY rural park. Highly recommend this park if you are interested in getting away from the busy-ness of high traffic areas. We were able to park 25 yards from the Llano River. It was very cool, but in the summer the fishing should be excellent. This park has several full-timers and we were invited to Thanksgiving at the RV parks recreation center. So don't expect to be anonymous if you visit this park. Our site was very level. We had weak cell phone reception (T-Mobile/GSM). Also the Wi-Fi was very slow so set your expectations accordingly. The RV park web site is accurate and even undersells the beauty of the park. The park is children friendly, but unless your kids can make their own fun, they might get a little bored.
This is a VERY quiet park about 75 yards from the Blanco River. It is a 5-6 min back road drive to downtown Wimberley. Campground is very informal, just pull in late and you can take care of business the next day. There are MANY, MANY, MANY trees in this campground. The campground web site does NOT do the campground justice. That being said, you can expect to see deer next to your camper!
