The only reason this park didn't get a 10 was due to the rate. Its quite high due to the "per person" activity charge. For a family of 5, this substantially adds to the site rate! I realize they need to finance the new improvements, but this was quite a lot for a campground in a rural area. To be fair, the activities were endless. The new pool and water slide were fantastic - just as many adults used the slide as the kids! The kids loved the paint-your-own ceramics and "create-a-critter" and our teenager enjoyed hanging out at the dance with his new friends. Our site was not in the big rig section, and it was huge with lots of shade. The staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were very clean. This is a great place for families!
This place is great, and I think our location had a lot to do with it. We were on one of the concrete pull-thrus, and the whole section, although full, was very quiet. I had seen the reviews about the golf carts, and yes, there are many, but they don't make any noise, and I didn't see any "crazy" behavior in the 5 days we were there. Everyone seemed to share the road just fine. Our kids loved the bungee jumping. The beach was just beautiful, and the camp store staff was very friendly, no matter what time of day. The bathrooms in our section were always clean, but could use a little updating. We would definitely come here again.
We were only here for one night, as a stopover while heading south. The campground was very easy to get to from I-95, yet we didn't hear any road noise at all. While the campground appeared to be quite full, it was very quiet. The staff was very, very helpful when we discovered that the cable tv wiring inside our RV wasn't functional - we made several trips to the camp store and they were just as friendly on our last visit as they were on our first! Bathrooms appeared to be clean.
This is a very shady campground, which was helpful as it was very HOT during our stay. We didn't participate in all of the activities, although they seemed well attended and popular with the kids. We did enjoy the fireworks show. The campstore is large, but doesn't have any food staples or newspapers which is a pain, since the nearest store is pretty far away. The pool was huge and clean. The showers were ok, but the bathrooms needed better cleaning. Other than that, this is a beautiful and very quiet campground. The catfish ponds were fun (nice bass in there too) and we never heard any noise from the construction of the newer sites. If you're looking to "get away from it all", this is the place.
This campground was quiet in our experience. We really appreciated the concrete pads after the downpour on our first day! We toured the KOA later in the day and found site after site filled with mud. The bathrooms need some updating and more frequent cleaning, but otherwise the campground is pretty well maintained. The kids loved the pool, and we had some success with surfcasting at night. The other campers around us were very friendly and helpful. This is a cozy place, and we would stay here again.
This is the most beautiful and well cared for resort that we have been to. The staff was very friendly, and even though we saw lots of golf carts roaming around, everyone was respectful and it was VERY quiet. We had two very large sites right on the bay - the sunsets were amazing. Each site had a large deck overlooking the water; perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The beach was very close, and wasn't crowded at all. The pools at the resort were very clean as well as the bath houses. Our only complaint was that there was only one shower in the bath house. Overall, this place is very clean and very pretty. We would definitely stay here again.
