We've stayed there twice (only as overnighters), but had positive impressions both times. Helpful staff (even though the park doesn't take cards, they took my out-of-town check). Very quiet, very clean. Minimal supplies in "Store," although they had the one thing we needed, which was a battery terminal cleaner. Oh, and a nice dog walk, with fresh watering bowl and poopie bags. I'm sure we'll stay here again.

Great campground! Wonderful views of the Sierras near the Whitney Portal. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We've stayed here many times just "passing through", but are thinking of making it a destination in the future. Very clean--pool and spa are nice and a nice park store. Only drawback is some highway noise from 395, but that seems to back off later at night. Wi-fi and Cable were very good.

We've stayed here several times as over nights. Aside from the rear-end scraping dip at the entrance of the entry and slightly tight spaces, it's a nice little park. Like the rest of the reviews said, Travel Home is mostly for long term residents. The owners and managers were very friendly and helpful--led us to our site and helped us position our rig. The owner mentioned in passing that they would soon be resurfacing all the pavement in the park, but he didn't say when. When I made reservations, I was quizzed thoroughly on what breed of dogs we had (couldn't really tell her because we have two 12-year-old rescue mutts of indeterminable heritage), but when when we got there, there was no question that dogs were welcome. There was a big basket of doggie "kits" in the office (Pink for the girls and blue for the boys) and each packet contained the scoops, the rules and a cookie. I thought that was sweet :) One reviewer said that there's an apartment building next to the park, and that's true, but we have never had any excessive noise after about 8:00pm. Overall, it's a nice little park for "just passing through" and we'll stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprised by this park. It's well-laid out and the staff is the most helpful and friendly in the state. They have a shuttle bus that comes into the park about every 15 or 20 minutes to pick up passengers headed for the casino or the new Cabela's super-store (which is just a couple of minutes away). Late at night, if you're whooping it up at the casino and miss the shuttle, all you have to do is go to the valet parking office and Boomtown's security will make sure you get back to your RV space. We didn't use the pool or spa, but they looked inviting. The laundry room is wonderful (for some strange reason, I'm a laundry room connoisseur). There's 4 or 5 washers, 4 or five dryers and plenty of coffee ($), Danish ($), TV and reading material. Fairly well stocked store too. It's close to Reno, about 9 miles and only about 20-30 minutes up into the pines toward Truckee and Lake Tahoe. My only personal drawback is that the park is so big, I couldn't walk my two elderly babies to the dog walk. We cleaned up after them after they used the outskirts of the park. Great place!
