Passing through and thought that we would try the park again. Sites were not level and the restaurant in the park was poor compared to local restaurants. The facilities like the gym and pool were very nice compared to other RV resorts. They are still charging the $.50 a day stadium tax to out-of-state plates, and an additional $3.00 per day resort fee for those not staying one month or more. I have raised my rating from 1 to 5.
This is a nice park with the usual amenities. If you are looking for a long term stay here you will have to consider the loud noises from both commercial airlines and military aircraft (loudest). They only have one pool, and the exercise room equipment is old, and not well kept. The annual rent here is high enough to support better accommodations. The Wi-Fi IS NOT free. You are in Pima County and will be subject to 50 cents a day for Tucson's Stadium Tax. This Stadium is a local failure with no teams wanting to call it home. Visitors of this area that do not have AZ Plates will pay this fee.
When we first got there the office decided to close early and we had to keep trying for security to get in. When he finally arrived, it was like we had bothered him, and was less then friendly during the check-in process. Equally, the staff in the office was not friendly either. It wasn't anything that was said, but rather there was not welcome feeling that we generally receive from other parks. The large pool, exercise room was slim for the number of sites. We would not recommend it at all.
Nice clean park with large sites and lots of space between each campsite. Campsites are somewhat level, and most didn't find it two hard to level out. People are friendly at the park, and it is close to the city for those who wish to venture in. The city is about 5 minutes away, and it has the amenities of a large city. The lake is generally only 7-11% of capacity (5200 acres is designated for the reservoir). There are not many shaded sites at the south shore entrance. Most of the shaded sites are at the north shore entrance, so if you go during the summer look at the north shore area. These two entrances are about 10 miles apart, and the drawback to north shore is no lake view, but then again; there isn't much of a lake to view. Overall, it is a nice country setting to relax in.
Park sites are not level and not very well maintained. Several hidden fees are thrown at you when you arrive. For daily and weekly stays a $3.00 a day resort fee is charged in addition to the $31.00 site charge. If you have not been in the Tucson area you will be surprised at a .50 cent a day Stadium Tax charged to all non-residence. I am still trying to figure out the additional $50.00 they charged on our bill. We did like the pool, exercise room and full-time residents, but for the fees we paid, I am not sure we got our money's worth.
