Kelly park was a great park. The springs were excellent and a joy to visit. The campground itself however was not. The staff at check in were great but the rest were not the best Florida Parks and Recreations had to offer. There is a rule that there is no alcohol allowed but these silly people actually came around to each site checking all the campers coolers!! Just leave your bottles inside your campers. The showers there were awful. The shower heads sprayed water in all directions but where you need it. You were better off standing outside the shower curtain to rinse off the soap. The hookups were all over the place. Some had the water on the right side of the camper and electric on the left and some were reversed I had to buy an extension for my electric and a full length water hose to get connected. All in all this campground was a bad experience. I will not camp here again.
This campground was awesome. There were plenty of wildlife to view including deer, turkey, raccoons and armadillos. The showers were clean and in good repair. The staff were very helpful and the campground was very well kept. We loved this campground and will definitely come back time and time again.
What a beautiful campground! There was wildlife all around (crafty raccoons included) and awesome nature trails. The staff did all they could to make our stay enjoyable including bringing us fire wood when they ran out up front. The only complaint would have to be the showers. The showers closest to us were antiques and not at all clean. I don't think the showers were cleaned once during our 4 night stay (same piece of soap on the floor and dead mosquitoes on the wall every time I showered) Lucky for me I'm not squeamish and plan to return here. Showers aside I loved this campground!
This KOA was great! They have golf cart rentals, golfing, swimming, (adult only pool and children's pool)and what a beautifully kept campground. The staff was top notch and could not be any friendlier. My kids got to feed some horses that were in the pasture right behind our RV. The only reason I did not rate this KOA a 10 out of 10 is because it was expensive! $65 a night was way too steep even if it was Memorial Day weekend. We would definitely return to this campground when the prices come down.
Turkey Lake Park was great. This place is like a 300 acre quiet spot in the middle of Orlando. You truly feel like your miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The amenities are excellent for the kids and the parks and pool are huge. The campsites are pretty good but noticed a lot of sites with dirt right were you would normal sit outside your camper (outdoor carpet recommended). The bathrooms and showers were in pretty good shape and the overall appearance and feel of the place would definitely bring us back. Not too bad getting reservations in the off season.
This was a beautiful park with a lot of shade trees. There are no full service sites but the dump station is very conveniently located. Camping prices are per $18 person, plus $7 per site per day for water and electric sites. I do not think big rigs would do well in this park. Ours is 34 foot and don’t think I could negotiates some of the sites. The showers were kept reasonably clean even with a large amount of campers using the facilities. The spring offers 72-degree water year round and tubing, canoeing, or kayaking are available to rent at reasonable rates. The down side of this park was the staff. They did not at all seem knowledgeable about their parks pricing policies nor were they in any rush to assist with checking in, rentals, or returns. We happen to camp there at the beginning of spring break and the park got full fast with spring breakers eager to blow off some steam. I would definitely stay here again even with the lack of helpful staff.
Beautiful park, well-kept grounds and facilities were exceptional. The staff is very helpful and eager to please campers. The beach is 7/10 of a mile bike ride or a tram will take you there every two hours. The campsites are a little close together but each has it own cement pad. We absolutely loved this park and hope to go back next time we are in the panhandle.
